brand new player seeking .. advice? fc? both? oO

So.. i tried the game on a free trial ... maybe a year or something back, played to lvl 9 didnt like it and stopped. however, as i currently find myself with some more time i figured id gibve it a proper shot. so i bought the game proper and such.. now as a lvl 34 rogue/ninja.. I dont know what top say.. the class is.. fine.. but it hasnt changed in terms of combat style or visual whatsoever from lvl 10. sure toss in a fluff ability here or there that you use maybe 1 time out of 10. but is that it? looking at the future abilities down the line.. i see nothing but highly situational abnilities that will likely gather dust on an off hotbar somewhere while 1-2-3 is the only usage.

also.. is this 1999? who has a goddamn limit on forum post length?! ugh. after cutting out everything else i wrote this will look like shit. sorry.

You can get around the character limit by editing your post.

NIN becomes a very useful addition to any party later on. For what it's worth, I generally dislike playing melee but I have a lot of fun as NIN. 4.0 cut down a lot of the unnecessary skill tree bloating in the normal combo which leaves more room to focus on maximizing your Nen and Ninki usage. Remember that you can change class and jobs at any moment, so if Ninja is not your cup of tea, you can try any of the others at any time, and return back when and if you feel like it.

As for NIN, I found it got better once I got my full Ten Jin Chi moves. I feel like NIN isn't the one that has the most 'thinking' required, I feel maybe MAYBE if you get bored easily try the more 'thinking' classes like Pugilist, Black Mage and maybe even a tank or healer. I found most classes/jobs a lil boring before 50 apart from those mentioned as well as Archer/Bard.
