Don't Get Rid Of The Songbirds!

After I did the seasonal quest, I was surprised when one of the Songbirds asked me to come to the show because she felt this might be the last time she'd see me.

Please don't get rid of the Songbirds! I love Little Ladies Day and it just wouldn't be the same without them.

Which is why I have participated in at least 1 fate per day.

I think SE is looking at how many people are actually doing the quest to determine if they will do more of the Songbirds in the future.

We had them for three years now... I'm quite done with them - I'll admit that I never liked them, but I'm probably not the target audience for an idol-pop-band.

Personally I would enjoy quests related to the dolls and the tradition/lore of the LLD event again over some girlies dancing on a stage.

I'm not sure if you did the first two Little Ladies Day Events in ARR?
The first one was about Edvya - a doll, modeled after a Sultans daughter. The GSM-guild had built her for a competion about making dolls, but she wasnt working, so they asked you to show her around to cheer her up and in the end she didnt want to leave your side anymore - which is how we got that minion.
The second one was about a rich Ul'dahn man who lost touch with his daughter and tried to win her back by building a showcase of lifesized dolls - in the end his daughter told him that she was upset that he was working so much and never had time for her again. She was still happy about the dolls because it showed her that her dad does care for her, but would have rather spend time with him.

...and after that... three years of Dating Sim and Dancing... I'm glad they included that little quest at the end this year because the whole "Oh, Songbirds are back on stage"-buisness was quite boring and stale by now.

I really, really hope they'll go back to the roots of the festival again and drop those girlies. I'm so, so done with them and so, so ready to have some nice, heartwarming little stories again.

I agree. I'm also done with this Jack-o-lantern guy with the Halloween series and the Valentine couple for Valentine's Day, and the Easter Miqo'te. I'm personally drained on all of them and don't really get excited when I see them. When the event comes around it's more like "Oh it's you again... what silly thing will you require of me this year..." Basically, I just want more verity. I want to know the person I helped last time is happy now, but instead I feel more like they have a problem every year that they can't handle without me being involved. Though I admit I'm making it sound worse than it really is and can get a little bit nit picky.

To be honest: I dont have that much of a problem with the NPCs from the other events, because I actually feel like they fit the event and general theme.
The Halloween guys? Yeah, a Circus that comes to town each year at the same time. (And about the happy part: Actually, you're preventing them from reaching their goal every year by sabotaging them while helping)
Valentines Day? According to game lore named by the great aunt(?) of the elezen lady whos running it now.
Eastern? ...okay, you got me there. Dont like that silly, naive Mi'qote-girly

And obviously its all subjective, so I'm not trying to critizes your opinion here, I just want to express how almost frustrated I am with those three stupid songbirds. I dont even wanna keep them in the background anywhere. At this point I very much just want them gone. They're not cute, they're not funny, they're annoying.
That lalafell is nothing but rude and arrogant, the Au Ra is so pretenious shy that it hurts and I dont know what that cat is doing there. At least they seem to be a good representation of real idols in the sense that they dont have a real personalty.

The first year we got them I was... irritated. They didnt seem to fit the theme of the event at all - but okay, not everyone has to like every event, right? Maybe that one wasnt for me then.
The next year... THEM again. Instead of any kind of more "meanigful" story - thats what I enjoyed about the first two LLD - we got a Dating Sim and listen to those girlies telling us boring stuff about their lifes.
And now this year - the quest after the whole songbird-nonsenses really give me hope though.
Hope, that we can see better stories than a cat telling us that she wants to be a dancer again.

Bottomline: I feel most of the other events (we're not talking about New Years, lets just pretend that doesnt happen), have some sort of real new twist or idea to them. The dungeons for Halloween and Valentines Day, the new stories for christmas... and then... there is this... where I dont even have to read the speachbubbles to know what they're saying.
So even if the Valentines Lady appears each year to be the general questgiver, I dont mind - we had that a few years with quests that actually revolved around other couples in the end (I remember this very bitter story in Gridania - a young woman waiting for her fiance to come back from the war or something like that and you basically told her that he died).
But the Songbirds arent the questgiver and rather the center of the quest/main-event. And I'm done with that.

Like others have said already, the Songbirds kinda need to go for now and the focus for future LLD events should be on what the day's all about. The final quest of this year's actually kinda hit me in the feels a little bit, and that usually takes a lot. They need to focus more on the spirit (yes, pun intended) of the holiday, not some idol culture that, quite frankly, is boring and over done at best and imo doesn't really fit in the game too well.

Ah, yes. The heart-warming stories of little girls being led into back alleys; to be sold into slavery, or worse. >.>

Hmm...if we're going by jpn idol standards, "Songbirds" might remain but the ladies might not. Can't remain young and pretty for long in that industry ;p

Personally, I'd like to see a different little ladies day event next year. I don't hate the idols but it'd be nice to change things up every year and then.

It could take a Love Live approach. Have a new group up and coming try to live up to the Songbirds the way Aqours originally tried to live up to Muse.

I understand where you are coming from. I, too, am interested in the lore of the event; as well as, the real life holiday that is the basis for Little Ladies Day. What I meant in my post is that I don't want the Songbirds gone. Let them remain in the background; but, don't remove them totally from the game.

Good point! I honestly forgot that the singers "graduate" and new singers are brought in idol culture. Now, I like all three of the current Songbirds, especially Ulala; but, it would be cool for a new Songbirds act to make an appearance made up of a roegadyn, elezen, and hyur.

Judging from the majority of responses, players are yearning for a return to the roots of Little Ladies Day. The lonesome lass was a good start. I hope we see more of that next year.
