If i remember correctly Diablos is using the gate to call powerful energies to destroy the warrior of light (and their alliances) so it's merely just a DPS check, albeit a weak one now with all the over gearing.

But to elaborate, it's a contest of strength (as Diabolos himself said) in the form of a DPS check. You're basically just trying to fire his ball of energy back him.

I completely forgot about him saying that about the contest. I haven't done Dun Scath in a long time, either get Labyrinth of the Ancients or Rabernastre in the Roulette and Rabers sure has its fair share of excitement at Hasmal *insert sarcasm*...

Whenever I would do Dun with my in-game wife she would hate fighting Scathach so I would happily trade just to have some excitement watching their reactions

I thought what amounted to hitting a door to engage in a DBZ beam struggle was kind dumb. Maybe you could say you attack from behind the gate and the energy gets converted and shot out or something... but you can attack from the front too.

Sadly been in a 24m that failed the gate check... needless to say I stared at my screen in disbelief for a minute or two

That fight, visually speaking, is the most fun IMO. Part of me wishes I had been there to participate in all the Kamehameha wave that was happening during that first week.
