I have been trying to catch this fish for what i would round up to 8 hours a day for 4 months. I have over 100 hq pirates banes thousands of hq silver sharks and still no Titanic sawfish.
whats going on? i spend all my free time trying to look up what ive done wrong and cant find anything i started fishing for this thing before heavensward with max gear at lvl 50 now stormblood has been out for a long time and im lvl 63 all from fishing for this one fish, i cant progress with anything else because i need to finish this quest i cant leave things unfinished...
please someone help me...

Cape westwind, use lugworm. Double mooch M. Goby to wahoo to hopefully titanic sawfish. Only fish for the titanic during clear weather between 9am and 2 pm EZT. You can also fish during fair skies, but the probability drops by half.

Sounds like maybe you're spending more time trying to catch than you need? There's only a short window where the sawfish is available, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Eorzea time, and then only during Fair or Clear Skies weather. If you're fishing outside that time period, you'll never catch one (although may be slightly worth starting early, hoping to set up for that HQ Wahoo).

If you're hitting the right time and weather, and assuming you're actually getting the HQs you need to Mooch, all comes down to luck.

yeah i mean like the amount of time ive spent fishing has been during the window over the past 4 years. Im almost positive something else is going wrong. am i supposed to be using a special rod? does this fish even still spawn? do i need to activate something before trying to fish for it for this quest?

I feel like me starting this thread alerted the gms to see that the drop rate was set to 0 or something
