    4.25 and beyond

As one of many people who are thoroughly bored at present with the types of content we are getting, if Eureka fails to be entertaining (which I hope turns out not to be the case), I think it may be time to come to terms that this game is only worth playing when new expansions launch.

Fingers crossed March 13th turns out to be a breath of new life into a game which has become increasing stale. My expectation at this point is Cactuar-Shirogane Ward 18 will have a vacant plot shortly.

I'm in the same boat. I'm actually going to be taking a break starting from April. I've recognized the signs of when I'm in a burnout and it doesn't help that SE is more or less being very linear in the way they develop and release content.

If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.

If it does end up sucking maybe SE will realize they can't just pull money from the game and give stupid small budget back, imo it's really what's killing the game, just not enough money flowing in to implement all the stuff they would like to, then again maybe they just like linear gameplay.

My subscription ends next Friday, and I don't intend to resub even if Eureka is well designed. I want Eureka to be good for the sake of the community, but the fact of the matter is that even if that's the case Eureka is still entirely removed from the rest of the game. As someone that will be finishing the last of the Anima Luxes in a few days, after having finished the Zodiac Zetas late last month/early this month, there just isn't anything left to do here as a medium-/long-term goal. Unless I want to sit in a box, probably by myself after each rush of a new step subsides, and toil away for glamour (/5.0 leveling gear) purposes.

This is very much the sort of game that you subscribe to for a month or two at the very end of an expansion/start of a new expansion, catch up, and then wander away for ~2 years though. Nothing on the gameplay front has any lasting value and keeping up with it patch after patch is more "exhausting chore" than it is "fun pasttime" at this point, at least for me.

This is the absolute last thing that would cross their mind. More likely they'd look at the data and come to the conclusion that the content was too hard or viewed as too inaccessible by the community at large. Or something equally misguided.

I agree it's unlikely but hey maybe, never hurts to pretend ^^

Look at all the negativity up off in here... With attitudes like these is it any wonder some of you are skeptical of FF14 and/or Eureka? Personally I think Eureka is very interesting, particularly with the way it's re-introducing elemental affinity, and am looking forward to giving it a try.

I'm not saying stop being downers for being burnt out, but if you're burnt out then just take the break you need for as long as you need and come back when you want to. I took a pretty long break myself and didn't come back for 4.2, but am gonna come back and give Eureka a go and while at it catch up by doing 4.2 content. I'm not gonna go in expecting anything, I just wanna give it a shot. If I get bored again I'll just take another break. Even while on break though I haven't been negative toward FF14, I just didn't feel like playing it was all, and FF14 isn't to blame for me feeling that way. There is plenty to do, and there always will be, but not everyone will see it that way and that's ok. Doesn't mean SE and FF14 are at fault, that's just a simple case of lack of interest. Can't expect someone to just throw in whatever to make a select few want to play because that might make others leave.

I wouldn't call it negativity per say, I would say people are just coming to terms with what the game is actually offering. People, myself included, don't have much faith in our devs producing content with longevity and long term goals. Short of the devs implementing content like this, as others have stated, I can re-sub 2 months before the next expansion and experience all the content without paying for a sub for two years. Lets be honest about the game currently.... we grind out tomestones or weekly raid drops for ilv which doesn't even really matter.

I don't see there being lots to do either... daily roulettes for tomestones which are very easy and fast to cap each week, weekly 8man raids for drops, outdated 24man raids for no reason. Primals.... did them all, old mounts.... have them, beast tribes.... already complete. At this point would would have to claim auxiliary content is enough of a reason to log in... GS, crafting, ect...

Its great that you are enjoying the game. There are many however that are not.... most of the people I know in game barely log in anymore due to the content implemented in 4.x so far. Ultimate carters to a very small segment of the game population, and PvP/Rival Wings never really took off.
