    I was implying it was an option. The point though is this is an MMORPG, and the social aspect is half the game. It seems people forget this and focus only on the content, not how they can enjoy it with other people. If they try it with different people and STILL aren't having fun then it may be time to try a new game, not hang around and wait months for new content they will just treat the same way, that's just folly.

    Given a choice of good content to play with other people and boring content to play with other people, I would prefer to ask for the good one. I don't see why you think it's a bad thing for people to voice their concerns about the state of the game. It's a good thing for the devs to hear what their players are thinking, and it's the obligation of a consumer to demand a better product if it isn't meeting their needs; and failing that, to take there money elsewhere. This thread is step 1. SE failing to listen leads to step 2.

    Its the entire MMORPG genre as a whole that has become stale it's been milked so much that there is next to nothing left at this point that won't be a rehash of something from another game or another form of content.

    If your expecting some miraculous new content to come along that is going to change the genre it won't be from a game that is almost 5 years old.

    nope, just content with steady slow progression planned to last over the life-cycle of said content and long term goals. People want a good reason to log in. They want appealing rewards, and a sense of character progression. None of these aspects are particularly novel, yet are absent from FF14

    Just came back from a few months break myself.

    Not being burned out, and actually enjoying the game quite a bit (playing every day for 8+ hours), I have to say I can't say I'm looking forward to Eureka either. It reeks of Diadem, and with all the comparisons to FFXI Valk Dunes and the EXP penalty on death that's been mentioned, I'm just completely divorced from the idea of doing more than dipping my toes into it. The worst thing about FFXI was the EXP Penalty on Death. I'd like to go in and work on some relic weapons and the likes, but depending on how bad it is as an experience I don't think I'll want to do much with it. Yes, I know the EXP on Death thing is not linked to jobs and the likes, but reverse progression is just not something I like even as a risk factor.

    I'm hoping it's fantastic.

    I'm not expecting it.

    This is the EXACT reason the REALLY need to put out this relic content at the BEGINNING of the expansion. So when lulls happen, there is stuff to do.

    They didn't learn that with HW or SB.

    Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
    Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
    Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

    Didn't Relic Stuff start in 3.1 for Heavensward though? It's been late in SB because they want it to be linked to Eureka. That was my impression at least.

    Really just wish they could make better midcore content and actual raids. All we have now is like a series of boss fights for savage, alliance raids are just big dungeons, and dungeons, they may as well just put us in a hallway. It all looks cool, but meh its just a chore. Nothing new, nothing fun, no puzzles, a literal treadmill.

    SE should bring back that questionnaire thing they used a the end of 1.0, doubt they even listen to the playerbase anymore.

    It is true this game lacks truly challenging puzzles, but that is intentional. I can safely say a large chunk of the playerbase is not good at such things and so they try to avoid creating content said chunk cannot complete and then goes to complain about. I'd have no beef if they added such content, would be an interesting change of pace, but can't please everyone. Also, define "new"... It may be in small doses but I see new things (new to FF14 anyway) every major patch/expansion.

    I guess new types of battle content, all we got right now is basically dodge this and kill that. They could add objectives, massive city wide battles, all sorts of things people have made 1000s of threads about at this point. Eureka might change it up, but not very hopefully at this point.
