    PvP should be an everlasting kind of content but they need manpower to remove bots and wintraders which plague some datacenters and spoil the game. For PvE, yes there's Eureka and later we will have the next Deep Dungeon. The reason unique kinds of content are so far apart... is risk management I guess. They don't want to further reduce their output on traditional linear kinds of content like dungeons / raids to accommodate more experimental stuff. I'm not bored personally but it would help a lot if players did treasure map parties and PvP more so I could jump into those things at any time. Takes too long to find groups for those at the moment. I don't know what else to suggest to add to the game because I would love more open world stuff for endgame players but it would have to be designed around botting and congestion issues so that it doesn't cluster too many people into one place and the reward can't be earned by afk bots.

    What is boring is that there is no content that last on long term,every update,you do the content once and thats it

    And it makes me mad,when you see the price of that game,40-60E to buy an expansion,12E per month + if you think 2retainer is not enough( and close to everyone think it is the case)
    People who played the game since the begining,if they played FF14 regulary,have probably paid around 300/400E in it,and for what ? some Solo RPg for 60 have more content that all FF14 stuff.

    SE only investing some cent in FF14,any F2P games have way more content and fun thing to play.

    Honnestlty,i think the only thing that keep people playing (me included) is because its a Final Fantasy,because of the brand,the game itself is cheaply made.

    Eureka I am holding my breath on it.

    I am expecting it to be a diadem 3.0

    Dont get me wrong I am hopefull for it. However with diadem initial fail, and then with diadem 2.0 fail my expectations of Eureka are pretty low.

    I agree with you. I’ve found my interest in FFXIV waning as the days go by, because after I cap mendacity for the week and take care of my weekly Savage runs, unless I feel motivated to do things like parse runs, learning parties, or throw myself into progging V8S alone (since I’m sans static right now), I don’t find many reasons to log in anymore. Yeah, sometimes I indulge in crafting or gathering, but the game has grown really stale to me, and I’m really hoping that Eureka changes that.

    My other big concern is that even if Eureka is everything we want it to be, how long is it going to be relevant content? If it's invalidated in the next big patch, we're just back to square one really. I'm not overly optimistic about expedient and continued updates to the content given Diadem and PotD's update schedules, but we'll see.

    Supposedly Eureka will be updated throughout the patch cycle with new zones... how that will interact with Eureka progression we don't know.... frankly we really don't know much about the content, which scares me

    I've heard that, but we also had heard PotD / Diadem would be updated. Diadem required a relaunch, so it only got updated once. PotD only got updated once, and we're missing the updated one in 4.0 still. I just don't feel their track record on any content that doesn't break the core loop (MSQ, dungeons, primal, 8-man raid, 24-man raid) is spectacular. I feel even more strongly about that when you look at how they cut the dungeons to deliver more content but we've ended up with the same or less overall.

    I hope I'm wrong. I just don't have a reason to believe I'm not.

    With PotD, they are supposedly adding a new PotD at some point during 4.x; I’m assuming that it will function much like the current one, but allow players to go to Level 70 instead of capping at 60. Sadly, they aren’t going to upgrade the old PotD, and I do wonder if it will die the moment the new one comes out. It may not, depending on if people want to do it for the Floor 200 goods, but it’s difficult to say.

    My biggest concern with Eureka is that it will end up like Diadem. I sincerely hope that the developers took the feedback for both Diadems to heart (PLEASE, no FATEs in Eureka...), because if Eureka fails, or ends up being a third Diadem, they are going to be in trouble. As for it’s updates, they have said they plan to expand it, and the relics are going to be directly tied to Eureka progression. So hopefully it will remain relevant far longer than Diadem ever did.

    I understand the concerns though. There isn’t a good track record of content that has any sort of extended lifecycle in this game; it more or less dies in a patch or two, or by the next expansion.

    I kinda wish all jobs could use summons since it's a staple of the series. It would basically replace Limit Break and be the full size summon you can call out after charging party bar, with different effects depending on the summon used. Like, Carbuncle would be what tank LB was, a shield effect. Any player would have access to all of the summon types though regardless of their role, so it might be that a dps player uses the 3-bar charge on heal+revive, or a healer activates the single-target attack one.

    If this game had a system of collecting summons, I would want a really diverse set like Carbuncle, Midgardsormr, Fenrir, Diabolos, Ultros, Hashmal, Phoenix, Bahamut, Mateus, Zalera, Gilgamesh, Bismarck, Susano, etc included. Their essences could be equipment basically and feed them crystals for stat growth like FF VIII junctions, with higher growth items being available first from high-end raids. Some of the current equipment slots that are uninteresting would have been better as appearance-only glam slots to save on character data, and belts just removed altogether.

    So, reducing the number of equipment slots but putting a higher degree of customisability on the ones that remain - you'd have to do something cool with weapons too right? Make it possible to grind up any weapon, but the higher you raise them beyond their original stats, the amount of work it would take to increase them further would go up exponentially. You could grind a Byakko weapon to +20 eventually to hit the limit of the current patch, and if you wanted even use a special item available in the next raid tier to break the limit on it and keep raising it to the new IL limit of that patch, but it would be easier to just get a new weapon at that point. Just an option for grindy players.

    Maybe let us convert certain weapons into an upgrade item which is used to upgrade your chosen main weapon? Like there would be a point to farming 300 Susano swords if you really wanted. Let us buy augments with capped tomes or something so we can add materia slots to items? So your Augmented Byakko Sword +10 would be IL 365 and have 3 slots. I'm not saying let people get uber if they have too much time; you can still artificially cap grinds so casual gearing methods cannot catch up to raid gear until certain items are available months later.
