Thank you for the update Eledra.

Do you usually play the game in fullscreen mode? If so, does having it in borderless fullscreen or windowed make any difference?

Does reducing the graphical settings or resolution make any difference? How about setting a frame rate cap (60, 30, etc.)?

There should be an option in the settings to limit frame rate when the client is inactive, make sure this is off.

If you restart your PC and everything is fine, about how long do you have to wait in order to get these frame rate drops?

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

    Hi Einmimiria
I tested all things that you post. I play on windowed and tested all FPS setting, tested windowed / windowed borderless / fullscreen / and FPS setting. Tested lower graphical setting and FPS setting. All with same result - nothing help. Yesterday i restart my PC and log in FFXIV (start screen show in setting 120FPS) from 3p.m. to 7p.m. and no drop in FPS without limit (60FPS in game). Today i log in at 7:30 a.m. and see in setting 6-8FPS. Log in at 9:35 p.m. and see in setting 2-3FPS, still after log out i see 110-120FPS in setting. Simply if i log at "fresh game" FPS drop from 110-120 to 60, and if start and log in after 6+ hours FPS drop to 2-10FPS. Background programs are - Comodo 10 Firewall, Avast ativirus, SB condrol panel (Sound Blaster sound control panel) SSD Wizard (Samsung SSD HDD healt program), nVidia control panel, PeerBlock, CCleaner, Open Hardware Monitor, Core Temp, Task Manager, and web browser FireFox 64bit (latest). Tried to stop some programs and see if this help FFXIV FPS and no not help, check Firewall and Antivirus for block FFXIV and both is in ok setting for FFXIV.

Ok after angry streak i reinstall latest nVidia driver and whole FFXIV, then log in and start window - setting show FPS around 100, ingame setting show around 50 and BIG CHANGE if i lower graphic setting from high to normal setting show FPS aroun 90, change back and setting show FPS around 50. At least somthing change, still need time test if FPS will be ok after few hours pause.

Thank you for the update Eledra.

Please keep us updated on how the game plays after a few hours.

If you do run into the problem again, could the issue be that something is overheating? It only happens if the PC has been on for several hours, correct? Do you have any way of monitoring your PC's temperature?

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

    Hi Einmimiria
To answer some of thing you ask.
Overheating is not problem, for processor i7 8700K i got massive active cooling cooler from Nocturna and this keep procesor at 75C max with 100% load (max temperature before automatic lowering processor core load is 100C for Coffee Lake processor families). For temperature check i use two program, first is Open Hardware Monitor (latest version 0.8.0 which unfortunately does not support latest Coffee Lake processor) this program show load, temperature, voltage from motherboard, GPU, CPU and HDD. Because this program don't know Coffee Lake processor i use for temperature check other software Core Temp 1.11 that can show temperature all processor cores. If play FFXIV processor temperature is at 50C max. and GPU 73C max. And yes problem with FPS drops is if PC working 8-12hours before i start playng FFXIV again.

Ok, this morning ingame setting show FPS is around 50, unfortunately at 4:50 p.m. setting show FPS drops to 5-7 again. And this time change graphical setting from high to normal done nothing with FPS.

Do you have one or more devices connected to your video out?

With the current Windows 10 fall creators update and NVIDIA cards there is an issue in multi monitor support that causes framerate drops, which should be fixed with the upcoming spring update.

Another issue that is a little bit younger is with Discords overlay. If you have enebled it, please try to disable it.

    Ok report:
Good - for two day game work normally.
Bad - next day (this day) morning game setting show drop to 5-10FPS.

Thing that change is - i start P2P client uTorrent (latest version).
Before 7.3. if i start this software, nothing change with ingame FPS or next day ingame FPS.
I try next test if can play three days without FPS drops ingame. After that i report how this test ended.

Ok bad thing, i start PC (no restart) uninstall uTorrent, instal other P2P, start this program, start PingPlotter (some packet loss, ping nice 150ms) and start FFXIV, log in and starting windown check FPS, setting show 120FPS. Log in character windown all load really slowly, cancel and go back starting window - setting show 5-10FPS. Restart PC and try log in game, all ok, ingame setting show 65FPS.
Still i don't think that problem is P2P software, because processor and RAM usage is that small, that task manager don't show it. Only net connection is medium from small before start P2P.
I think problem is somewhere with graphic thing and game thing, because even in use P2P and PingPlotter ingame connection see net connection as exellent.
I start to be weary of this problem.

Count me among those dealing with this. Recent resubscriber from before Stormblood, and I've had a graphics card upgrade since. My FPS won't push above 20 even on the lowest settings. It does sometimes hit 21, then immediately snaps down as if capped. Same issue borderless windowed and fullscreen, and my GPU is selected to run the game.
