It's not only not just them, this is really old news. Pretty much every new "extreme" since Sephirot has been something you learn in a run or 2, from scratch to finish. And even Sephirot was a big step down from Thordan, but was still acceptable. Only saving grace is that Susano/Lakshmi occupied the same role as Ravana/Bismarck so they weren't really supposed to be hard, and we've only had 2 trials since then. And Shinryu, while still having a really small learning curve, was at least interesting.

I guess it depends on person. For me some of new ex primals are on the borderline hard / next-to-impossible. Lakshmi was just right difficulty. Susano was hard, but still passable. Now Shinryu and Byako feels like content for savage players... Not only you need to know tactics, but you also need to have very high gear and play nearly flawlessly to be able to beat them. How is that easy...?

I haven't touched a primal I was not forced to in a msq since I got all the ponies way back. I always have to pug and it's not worth the agro.

Whoa. I think you got the wrong idea here. It's called "extreme", so you should need tactic and skill to have it down. When we call it easy, we're calling out the fact the learning curve shrank and you can get all of Byakko's tactic in less than 2 hours and kill it. That was not the case before. I spent more time on Thordan than on some Savage levels. What we're asking is for it to live up to the name. It's ok if it's not downed by everyone. Shouldn't be. Not everyone want, not everyone can, and that's ok.

When it just came out, susano did give pugs some trouble : I had quite a few failed pug before finding a pug good enough to actually farm him. Lakshmi... yea she was easy.
But today, everybody know those fights, so it's likely that it can be cleared by any pug now.

Difficulty is really hard to balanced, since it is very subjective, as fumofu was saying.

It's not my experience that is the point but the fact that the extreme trials are now objectively easier. This is not an opinion, just compare byakko and sephirot and count the mechanics and what they entailed. They are not even close.

I find that true. it's not just experience. The thing is : in SB, most Primals, you can just react to what you're seeing and be ok. Have one guy who cleared it with you calling and you're even done in only one timer.

On previous ones (or Shinryu) you couldn't just react : you had to understand. I'd very much like to see a group with only one with the kill acting as a caller, the rest discovering the fight, not having set foot in it once, all under gear requirement, kill Thordan or Sephiroth in only on timer like you can on Lakshmi, Susanoo and Byakko. Hint : won't be happening, count more like 6 to 10 hours.

So there is some objectivity to that claim, not just perception. Although as Kabooa said, there is also that, it's not all there is.

@Moogly : yes he said that about Alexander, and he was right about the difficulty to satisfy. But we were talking Savage. And they did make them more accessible since creator.
No one asked them to apply same potion to Primals though. That's a bit boggling, but you can find that old Ex Prime difficulty on nowadays savage floors so I'd tell OP to go for it.
