Please consider removing levels from striking dummies.

I know this is a relatively small gripe compared to all of the other housing woes, but it's been an irritation of mine for a while. With how accuracy works currently, you have a good chance of missing an attack against an enemy that massively out-levels you. This is fine, but I feel like this shouldn't apply to striking dummies. Our FC has a small annoyance right now where we either have to decide on a level 60 dummy that matches our yard's aesthetic that most people can't use til they're a good way through the leveling process, or a visually clashing dummy that everyone can use and it'd be great to be able to do away with this decision.

I doubt they'd be able to remove levels from striking dummies without making them near useless. If it was that simple, MMORPGs would already be doing it so they don't have to keep changing their striking dummies every time they increase player level cap.

Suggest that your FC hide the "unattractive" striking dummy (aren't they all in the long run?) inside other items that fit the decor better instead. The item combinations thread has some examples of how FCs have hidden their striking dummies.

With perhaps a minor issue with moves like misery end or assassinate. I don't think makes the slightest bit of difference what level dummy you test your rotation on.

Attack and defence don't scale in this game. If something like fume shurikan hits a level 70 mob for 6k. It'll hit a level 1 mob for 6k aswell.

Same for Crist and things. You can smack a level 1 dummy for 3 minutes and a level 70 dummy and you crit rate won't change..

Removing the levels from dummies wouldn't really change them outside of how much hp a dummy has and the accuracy.

Partly why stats and the treadmil are boring.
I get as many Crits and bloodletter procs on my bard at 70 with like 2k crit as I did at 50 with 300 crit or whatever it was back then.
It's basically a useless stat. Come 6.0 or something when I got like 5000 crit I'm still gonna be getting the same number of Crits in a fight.

Unsynced kinda demonstrates this. Your crit rate in an unsynced coil t5 is the same as your crit rate in Kafka.

This was the entire point around the request....ensuring that you won't miss against a dummy.

Or just let us choose which level bracket a dummy is when we place it, like how you choose the gender and race for a vendor.

Serious question: Why is this a necessary thing, instead of leaving dummies at level 1? What difference does it make having a level 70 dummy vs a level 60, or 50, or any other level?

The 60 and 70 dummies were put in for the new expansions and skills, the main purpose of a striking dummy is for practicing your rotation which is best done when you have your full toolkit for the current expansion. While you are leveling you get new skills quickly and shouldn't worry too much about optimizing until you have everything. Having them at the lvl caps lets ppl worry more about story and actual leveling

Am I missing something here? What's going to stop you from hitting a level 1 dummy when your character is level 70? Unless you're concerned about HP draining moves or what have you.

If the actual numerical level is an issue for some people, then maybe just make it so you can't miss when striking a dummy?

The numerical value has nothing to do with practicing your rotation to make it more fluid, I was saying that there was no need for a char that wasn't lvl 50 in arr, 60/hw, and 70/sb to spend time on the dummy when they could be progressing. They were not made in varying levels since you really don't have a real rotation to practice until you get all of your skills and it would be a waste of resources to have a bunch of them for aesthetics.

I'd actually say there's a lot of merit in a leveling character occasionally practicing on a dummy, especially as they continue to level and rotations get more complex. Synced content existing does mean you should at least have a decent grasp of how you play properly at that level.
