Been playing on and off for a few months again...

I've been playing on and off and reading/talking on the forums... Lately I've seen a lot of "2.0" will make things better and I was wondering how much "better" is it going to make the game and why? I can't seem to find any notes on what "great changes" 2.0 will have.

So 2.0 is coming out near January 2013? Why are people so high about this patch if it's so far away? That's another whole year haha.

probly because theres a TON of stuff going in in between now and that specific patch

each patch has been pretty damn big

I don't think time is the issue with excitement. Overall many things that makes the game clumsy now is being addressed in 2.0 with additional content like PvP so there's a lot to be excited about. It'll be a rebirth and hopefully a successful one and one year for that isn't too distant. Plus we get preview in Q4, it's the ps3 folks that gets it in Q1 2013.

Thanks for all the input guys, personally the only thing I hope they fix that bothers me currently is the speed at which you can level disciple of hand jobs... The leves are rarely in the level that you are and you get so little exp, I don't understand how people hit 50 in all jobs at this point. The rest I'm fine with, if i had more people to play with I'd be level 50 with my disciple of war already but solo grinding (apparently that's the best way to level currently) gets so boring it's not even funny...

The higher the leve level, the higher the exp. You can get easy around 5k exp from a level 40 leve.
The best is to find good leves you can make without leaving the city and repeat that leve.

thats the best way to do it all right, and "most" crafts have the ability to do this in one city at any given range

though some(like lw) are screwed regardless

theres nothing wrong witht he speed of leveling crafts right now

30k per hour EASILY grinding materials at any range almost

the biggest issue of course is keeping materials in stock to keep doing so(cant rely on leves or even count them as "speed" leveling

so 30k per hour, if you have the materials, pretty much means youll go from 49-50 in less then 4 hours(reasonable ammount of time) if you sitr and really focus on grinding


this is opposed to it being closer to 10+ hours back at launch when the exp limits were lower and we had no 51+ recipes

How are you getting 30k per hour? I'm getting 300ISH per leve quest at level 8, I have to run back and fourth 3-4 times to do a level around the level of my alch just to level up, if I could get 30k/hour I wouldn't complain, clearly I'm doing something wrong. :/
