    More reasonable Item Restore policy

Only being able to restore/refund an item once ever seems pretty unreasonable. I recently bought the wrong item with sigmascape items because i thought the polish took 1.0 and it was 2.0 (yea i wasn't paying much attention and its my fault). However I wanted to see if i could get the books back or the item i ctually wanted but i got a decline response because I got an exchange back in November of 2015. There should be a more reasonable limit to this function, perhaps once per year, or once per expansion. I know Im dumb for not paying attention, it just sucks wasting 4 weeks of clears on the wrong item. The only consolation is I can use the polish on my main class for my last accessory so its not a complete loss, but still.... seems pretty ridiculous.

Is it that strict. Though it was just called that to stop players abusing it for every little thing. Same way it was in xi.

I've used it twice that I can remember. Once right at the start of 2.0 on my legacy whistle. Used it again when I somehow tossed my alendrite thing on relic. Had done like 71 of the melds.

I also know a friend who's used it a couple of times when a server crash broke a synth using some then expensive / rare primal item or something such.

Not so bad really. In ffxi I used the one time restoration a half dozen times 3 of which were losing my patriarch protectors arrow / crossbow bolt when unlimited shot messed up... those were fun days.

Was common though so common they eventually made it a quiver that you could pull an arrow out once a week sorta thing. So ifbyou lost the arrow you just used the quivervto get another one

It really is bad compared to other games (WoW for example, Blizzard are much more obliging), and by the look of it you and your friend just got lucky and found a nice GM.

This policy is way too strict. You shouldn't have to weigh up whether your present loss is probably bigger than anything that might happen in the future, and that's the situation we are in. I fully support the OPs request.

If it is that strict then yeah I fully agree make it a bit more lenient. Annual should be long enough.

@Dzian - I like your suggestion. A limit of once a year would still make people think twice before contacting a GM and stop most frivolous requests.

Hoping someone at SE notices this.

I agree it's ridiculous. People make mistakes and while I get that they want people to really think about what they're doing, ONCE EVER is just too strict.

I like once a year. It's long enough that it still discourages abuse, but short enough that a person should be able to have a "stupid" moment at least once per expansion - especially returners.

Replying + hitting the like button (if you care about this, you should also do both. Replying keeps it bumped up. Liking it means SE community is more likely to notice this and pass it forward)

Wow, I didn't realize the policy was that strict O.o one restore ever seems very harsh. Once a year is still way less lenient than any other mmo I've played, and wouldn't allow for trivial requests, I completely support this.

Just for reference. Blizzard offer item restore once a month to WoW players.

SWTOR (I think? It's been a while) allows you to sell back items, within a particular timeframe of a couple of hours, that haven't been bound/used, for the amount of currency/tokens paid. Give us that. You have checks in place to see if something is spiritbound or melded, so if it's not either, just let them return the item (i.e., a Rabanastre coin for your roborant, or 375 mendacity for that ring you now have two of.) It would cut down on the number of people needing to contact GMs for lost items to people who actually lost the item, not just "bought the wrong thing." And it's not like you can use an item and then get your money back. Even Fashion Report binds the items, as does glamming with them.
