Gayorzea: Discord Partner community for LGBT FFXIV players

Gayorzea is a friendly & welcoming partnered Discord community for LGBT+ FFXIV players. We've been around now for 2 years & have thousands of members from every datacenter.

We support LGBT artists & streamers & it's also a great place to be part of if you're looking for LGBT linkshells or Free Companies or even an in-game partner. If you just want to come hang out with & chat to people like you away from the toxicity that we often have to face elsewhere in online gaming, then it's a place for you to call home too.

aaaaand if you're not part of the LGBT community but want to share your support for us, then you're also very welcome, come say hi!

Is it free of the politically charged rants and shameless, desperate attempts at hooking up with other users that seem to infest other similar chat networks? I'm genuinely curious, as so far that has proven to be a common trend in these groups.

I have a nitpick with this. I'm by no means against people who are in the LGBT community, in fact one of my friends in my FC is gay. But why does sexual orientation has to be the centerfold of an FC or Discord channel? If a group entitled themselves "Proud to be Straight," I'd raise my eyebrow. It fine to mention that you're accepting of people who are LGBT in the description, but I don't think an obvious name needs to be THE title itself. It sounds very forced and contrived. The "Gayorzea" sounds more cringeworthy than accepting."

I also have a nitpick about your and VanilleFang's post, why do people always feel the need to sling mud every time something like this is posted? It's perfectly understandable that you don't see the point of such a group, but what is your post trying to accomplish? I don't think OP posted this here to start a deep discussion on what other people are allowed to do, it seemed like just an advertisement, so while you're free to voice your disagreement about what other people do somewhere else in their time, what do you honestly think is gonna come out of this? They probably won't see your post and rush to delete the group after "seeing the light".
