A good DRK will take that into account and only start Blood Price once the stun immunity goes into effect(though it's easier when the WHM spams the Holy right at the start of the pull rather than part way through) - or after the second Holy is almost done casting.

My group spent one evening working a single turn for giggles instead of just doing our weekly clear and raid logging. Within an hour my co healer had the world first SCH dps spot on O6S and by quite a surprising margin at that. We mulled over some math and ideas and came to the conclusion that if I stuck with AST and put some time into the other turns as well, we could likely get him top 10s across the board with at least another world #1 being realistically attainable. Needless to say, we were pretty hyped to get working on that.
The group promptly decided to go on hiatus until the next raid content hits.

Being the only healer in a light group fighting Fafnir in Eureka because most of the instance left like children over Paz not being spawned should be a horror story, but it actually went pretty well. The tank was a paladin so that probably helped but I managed to keep him up the whole fight, and although some of the dps died, no one complained. It was a fun challenge, honestly. Those are the moments I really love healing.
The second paz is dead the instance usually dies. Had it happen last night, killed paz, 80 people poof, about 12 more go for more NMs, got Bomba then even more poofed, and the last 6 or 7 of us went for Lord just because he was close and up. After that, only 3-4 people were left in the instance.Being the only healer in a light group fighting Fafnir in Eureka because most of the instance left like children over Paz not being spawned should be a horror story, but it actually went pretty well. Please, don't be.
These stories might sound impressive, but it isn't as frequent as this topic can suggest. And many of them could happen with you or your party even if you're a DPS or a Tank. I'm sure that you might have a single or a couple horror stories to tell. But, as a healer main who is doing all the content he can PuGging, I can say that those traumatic experiences at FFXIV are the exception, not the rule.
And you always have the option of dropping off the party and joining another. The healer queue is fast (not as fast as tank's, tho).
Moreover, welcome to healing.

How do people deal with players who join farm groups for content they are clearly not prepared to farm?
Do you leave the group even though it's only one unprepared player? But that might reflect badly upon you; other group members might dislike you for being impatient, etc. Do you keep going but stop ressing them because they'd just die again shortly after? But that might make it seem like you're being passive aggressive. Or do you just deal with it and carry them through the fight, gimping your own dps to keep healing them through mechanics/ressing them?
It's not a pleasant situation to be in as a healer. :/
Just reading this reinforces my discontent with people in general -.-Being the only healer in a light group fighting Fafnir in Eureka because most of the instance left like children over Paz not being spawned should be a horror story, but it actually went pretty well. We should really be able to edit on mobile ^^;The second paz is dead the instance usually dies. Actually it was this quote that I meant to reply to.
Just saw this, but please continue using holy spam on the minotaurs and chimera pack, the mitigation from stuns as well as pure damage is awesome AF and when mowed down with everyone AoEing absolutely destroys the pack! Can't seem to find the old thread anywhere so figured there'd be no harm having another fun thread in-between the serious topics, especially after the day that was yesterday...

-- Two days ago I suffered one of my very few group-kicks in an EXP-Roul, all because I used Holy. We had a geared PLD, two AoE DPS and a WHM (me) waiting and ready to pull the trigger, so everything was going OK - until they pulled the second pack in Fractal (you know, Minotaurs & Chimera). I was doing my usual Holy spamming when one of the Minotaurs got off an AoE Swipe, which prompted the MNK to complain. He was the only one who had to walk out of the circle seeing as Holy obviously prevents stuns being a viable option when spammed, so he lost about 2 seconds of personal DPS, and this seemed to make him bitter. He mentioned stun-immunity and pointed out that "This is what happens when you spam your stupid Holy", to which I pointed out how unnecessarily pedantic that is due to the clear-speed - but it turns out they must have all been friends because that is where my run was prematurely ended, so I signed up and got an instant-pop with (thankfully) nicer people.
-- I typically boot up a stream on the fly when I'm about to have a roulette session for anyone passing viewers with interest, so there's typically a small unplanned audience of passers-by (very few) - one of which popped in during a Void Ark (ARaid Roul) who went on a flame-fest: "I hate healers like you, throwing stone and forcing the other Healer to do all the work" (I won't include the vulgar profanity spouted along the way). Bear in mind that during these comments, nobody was even taking damage - you know how it goes with low-end raids in roulette. I found it all the more amusing considering the Skalla I did just before it (which they obviously missed), involved me tanking on WAR, with two poorly geared DPS who were quite low on kill-speed, complimented by a classic AFK Healer who would stand there looking at me and do little else other than the occasional Benefic when I got to 90% - so being called a fa**** for doing something other than that on my own Healer just reminded me of how absurd it all is and how nobody can ever do right by everyone.

I'm about to go on another session. Would be nice to have some other horror stories in here to read up on when done. So, what got your Healing goat this week?

I remember I was playing WHM during the Reaserch Faclillity. The tank was about to pull a big group of adds and I hit him with a regen. The tank pulled it all, but some enemies came at me.
Usually I know better, but for some reason i did it anyway. Luckily the tank pulled the enemies before any damage was done. Sadly after they typed in chat how I was a re**rd and shouldn't even play this game because only an ifiot uses regen.
We both finished the dungeon without typing anything. They were problay the most toxic player I have come across.
