And oddly, in 2 healer groups, I only EVER seem to have to rescue(heavily heal) the other healer when its a scholar as well.
No Adlo shields? No Exoc on the tank? (It's the green buff icon with black human shape... I think) In case you were unfamiliar with it, it places sort of heal guard, if the targets HP falls under 50% it causes moderate heal. If it's not used up until it expires, it does the heal on expiring. If you full heal a target with it while there's no real immediate reason to you are just undermining one heal your co-healer did. And as said, Lustrates are instant casts and might be cast to targets during your cast time making it look like you healed something you didn't need to. And while fairy autocasts Embrace, their main heal, even under manual control, many scholars cast their other skills, such as Whispering Dawn on their own discretion, again making it look like its just the fairy working while it's actually the player healing. Fairy is giant part of their toolkit. Saying "just leave fairy heal" is understatement. About the only actual cast time heal Scholars have is weaker than Cure 2 so a good co heal, recognising each roles strength and weaknesses, uses it only as last resort but in good co-heal situation uses all their harder to spot tricks, trusting the WHM to do what WHM is better at. Then again, you may have stumbled to the "faster queue summoners" as somone put it.

If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.

It's interesting to see how often the HP bars becomes red.

The type one, the SCH that's actually healing, is where he appears not healing, but the HP bars don't meet the red often nor I see Whispering Dawn so much (SCH I played with tends to hold Whispering Dawn when paired with a WHM because I have Medica 2). In that case, the run is really smooth, because when I look at the tank just before some tank buster, he is already shielded (depending on the duty, the party is also shielded with a critlo). In this case, the only heal GCDs I use frequently is Medica 2 and Regen. Anything else I can do mostly with my oGCDs. And most of time, My GCDs is also ocupied mostly with DPS.

The type two, the green DPS scholar, is where the HP bars becomes red if I or his Eos don't heal. Most of them are actually SMN mains who is getting a faster queue. In that case, I'll have to solo heal because that SCH won't cast a Indom when a raid-wide damage hits the party (so I'll precast Cure 3 or Medica 1) or shield the MT before some tankbuster (so I put a DB on him). And Cure 2 casts is much more frequent on this setting.

And I healed alongside both types.

The Healing-requirements in FF14 are so low that and experienced SCH can heal almost all dmg with eos and an indo every now and then.
Savage may be an exception but usually if you see an SCH using his gcd-heal he:
    1. has run out of stacks because someone screwed up.
    2. he just got rezzed and need to heal himself (essential 1.)
    3. he is heavily untergeared
    4. he is inexperienced...

generall rule is: if there is no raid-buster coming in the next 20sec - let eos do the healing (maybie use rouse)...
exco will keep the tank alive and lustrat will take care of the dps if they screw up a mechanic (provided they survive)

most healers try to keep the group at 100% live when they only need to keep them over 0%

Yeah. People like to freak out about not getting healed instantly, even when it doesn't matter. You're at 70% and have a regen on you. Chill out.

Groups with RDMs: Oh, I'm at half hp with a regen on me. Better Vercure!

It probably doesn't help their image that SCH are preemptive healers so they know damage output timings really well and will only top people off before the next incoming damage as opposed to after the previous one (to leverage the faerie). By then less experienced/trusting healers will have healed everyone up already.
It's the equivalent to good WHMs getting their HoTs crushed by their impatient healing partners who need everyone topped right away.

I've found that Emergency Tactics confuses a lot of people who aren't familiar with Scholar too. Shields are unnecessary for a lot of mechanics especially when you waste the initial heal to put them up early or they fall off before they're useful. I've had a few cohealers complain I'm not healing anything when Emergency Tactics and Indom have been used throughout an entire fight just because they don't see the Galvanized Shield. I guess they just think they are using extra strong Medica or Helios since they go off about the same time but Scholar can handle the occasional raid wide very well even when you use Selene frequently like I do.

I'm on the 2nd Boss in the Orbonne Monastery, Agrias. We made it to the final phase, where the boss starts chain casting AOE damage until she dies. I'm playing a SCH with a WHM co-healer. I never hard cast heals, I always use Emergency Tactics + Swiftcast + Succor when my Indom is on cooldown. The only person to die in the party was the Bard, who said to me, "SCH stop DPSing and heal me for once." My Indom hit everyone in the group except for the Bard. I look to where the Bard died, and he's in the back corner of the room dead.

Yeah, I probably could've lustrated him and saved him, but I wasn't expecting him to be out of AOE range in the corner of the room so that caught me off guard. Then I got kinda salty, why was he calling only me out and not the WHM too? Then I was thinking, he probably has no understanding of how SCH is played. I just replied to him by saying, "No".

The worst fight for this the trash between Agrias and Cid. When it spams its raid attack and the RDM / BRD are too far, I won't bother.

    I'm a terrible person.
