I've been leveling white mage along with a friend who is leveling Paladin. I needed to gain a level to catch up so I did some roulettes on my own. The 50/60 one gave me a dungeon in progress with 1 minute elapsed. That means the healer noped out of there in one minute and I'm wondering what would cause someone to bail so quick. I get in and it's just stone vigil hard mode. Boring, okay, but why the quick leave. The first pull (not even fully to the wyvern) nearly got the paladin tank killed. I'm trying my best and they were using cooldowns, but they were getting torn apart. I gear check the tank and they have level 70 gear on with random jewelry, some of it was under 50 (why). That shouldn't have caused that much of an issue. I assumed the problem was in something I couldn't see, and some of their gear was broken. The dungeon continues and we get through with no wipes. Paladin didn't switch to sword oath for the last boss.

When will we be allowed to repair other people's gear?

Also to all the paladins having a field day in pagos with clemency: Let excog heal you. It's there for a reason.

I main as AST. I originally started out as CNJ/WHM until AST came out, so I have been maining heals for years and years. My friend (who also mains as heals/SCH) and I decide to make another set of alts to try RP on an RP server (because it doesn't really exist on Cactuar). He decides to play as tank, and I decide to play as ACN as I haven't ever bothered with SCH before (I've played SMN on Alxi'a for a little bit, but not SCH).

We decided to do a roulette and we got one of our three low level dungeons. xD We have a level 50+ WHM who isn't really healing. Tank's dropping between 2% and 50% HP before the healer heals. Probably put the both of us as main heals a little on edge but I decided to leave it be and have a little bit of faith in a fellow healer. XD The first time he got down to about 2% HP, I healed our tank (thankfully the WHM "swiftcast" healed him that time) because our WHM was just DPSing. After that, the healer started to be a lot more mindful about healing him regularly around 50-70%

Then all of a sudden, he pulls slightly bigger in the final room of the dungeon and he dies. The healer refuses raise him, they just keep DPSing. So, I ended up raising him as the ACN. XD And then I proceeded to heal him because WHM was still DPSing. She only stopped to heal after I pretty much topped him off. We wait for a moment and both of us ask at the same time "prot/protect, please?" She goes "I used my swiftcast trying to keep you healed." (Yes, they used swiftcast to heal him, but only because they prioritising DPSing. When they should have been healing, they were DPSing. XD So: stone, stone, swift cast heal, stone, goes to throw another stone, tank's just about dead, goes to heal but no swiftcast cure so he dies, continues to throw stone instead of raising."

... ... ... What does swiftcast have anything to do with prot when no one is moving? xD Maybe they meant raising, but even so one should probably pioritise raising the tank over DPSing even without swiftcast. I don't know, that's just what my five years of evolving and experience tells me. XD

Mind you, I know for a fact she could have kept up with the heals. In our first run of that dungeon, we had an asshole DPS pull that entire area (because he was asked to stop pulling), which my pal managed to aggro, and yet a level lower level AST managed to keep him alive when he had even worse gear than he has now. xD How? Because they prioritised healing...

(I'll just put out here that I have also muddled as a healer plenty of times, so I get it... It's also really boring to heal a low level dungeon sometimes so it's easy to get carried away with DPSing... but I will never get lazy healing. XD Like yes, you should be able to go beyond your role and DPS when you can afford to, but you should prioritise your role first and foremost.)

Today, I saw the fabled healer that only heals and refuses to DPS. Medica drops off? Insta-cast it. Tank gets a papercut and drops down a precent from fully healed? Cure all the way. A little bit of AOE damage? Cure III despite medica being up and perfectly capable of handling it. She ended up attracting half the moogles in Mog's trial because she was generating so much aggro from overhealing. The rest of the time, the healer stood completely still and never cast any spells.

The other day I had this really bad Deltascape v3.0 group on my WHM. People kept dropping dead left and right. The other healer never raised anyone and I think I raised them at least four times. The fight took a really long time too, partly because most of the time at least one DPS was dead. The boss did the role (or frog) squares phase about six times when normally the fight ends after the third such phase. Near the end we had three DPS and the other healer down and I thought we weren't going to make it when someone in chat suggested using healer LB3. I did, everyone was raised and fully healed, and we managed to dispatch the boss. I and the main tank were the only people who didn't die at all during the entire fight.

Another time I was on a World of Darkness run where also people kept dropping like flies. I had to raise healers in other groups several times. Thanks to it being Lv50 content and everyone being overgeared it went surprisingly smoothly. We only had one wipe at the final boss when some meteors were missed because of too many dead people.

Today I got a Dun Scaith which started amazingly badly. Every mechanic caused several deaths and because half the DPS were dead we wiped when the floor filled up with grey squares. I was groaning internally but the group got their act together and the second attempt at the boss went smoothly. The only other wipe was at the final boss when again some meteors were missed.

Doma today, because I wanted to do one of the SB dungeon for fun as a healer.

3 new (?) players.
Drk randomly dropping every stance during pull (even darkside), not using CD, not taking aggro properly
Brd and blm not aoing, taking almost every aoe, had the best rotation ever (blizzard => Fire => Blizzard => Fire III => Blizzard => Fire...)
Each pull took forever.

Was as Ast... decided that it was better using my cards on me only to throw some buffed gravity.
They sure had the chance I was patient enough to go through this cause I came to have fun and I hadn't.

I do Kefka once a week on normal to build up extra crystaloids for extra jobs. I don't want to spam it because it would get boring fast, but I've only actually done it 3 times in total, so I don't always remember every single mechanic correctly.

I and the other healer get knocked off the platform two times in a row because I forgot the hand switches on the second one. The other healer at this point gives up and on the next pull, pulls the boss, dies and says "Kick me." The tanks had recovered everything at that point, but the healer refused to accept rez from the red mage, through to the end of the boss. I didn't bother because I figured the healer wouldn't accept after saying that. We downed it with just me healing, with no one else getting knocked off the platform by the mechanics, and at the end, this healer wasn't fazed or troubled. They rolled on the loot and another person said "Congratulations on your free kill."

I've been annoyed in fights before to people not doing mechanics, and I've been frustrated enough to leave before, but this had me floored for a good thirty minutes afterwards. The only good news I had was that because the person wrote something in chat, I was able to blacklist them.

If you would ever like to blacklist someone after a duty but they haven't said anything in chat everyone you've been in a party with will be visible in your contact list which is in the Social menu I believe. If you click on their name options come up like friend request and blacklist.

Congrats on soloing that though!

I found myself in a similar situation yesterday in o12n. I queued for normal raid roulette on WHM because I miss healing and I need tomes and... wow this SCH.

I can't parse (ps4) but I bet their dps wasn't bad (up until they were attacking the male with the debuff which they proceeded to do for the rest of the fight) but they literally weren't healing. Near as I could tell they were basically doing a dummy dps rotation, complete with 3 energy drains in rapid succession each time they used Aetherflow.

When I say no healing I mean literally zero heals cast. I wonder if they may have been a bot to be hoenst, though when one of the tanks died while they were split up (the only non-falling-off death btw) they asked the SCH where the heals were and were told "WHM has it" so... maybe not a bot, maybe just a stupid person? Who knows.

Either way bless their heart they won the shaft I've been passively trying to get for a while now. Just goes to show the worse you play the better your loot rolls are.

If you happen to see this SCH-friend... stop it, get some help.

Levelled my AST last week who is now enjoying my WHM's hard-earned gear-set. Decided to spice up roulette's with my newly maxed character and got Dun Scaith. Ever wiped on first boss before? Me neither, yet I had the pleasure of seeing it twice in one go. Never before have I seen so many people in such huge numbers repeatedly get knocked off the boat over two whole attempts, each and every single time. In addition, my co-healer likely didn't realize that we can now use all cross-class abilities... Not once did they use Esuna vs doom, not even when they got doom on themselves. We (thankfully) didn't wipe to the rest of the bosses, even if Diabolos resulted in predictable shenanigans and the fabled 'close' victory where 80% of each alliance was eating dirt, but man, it was the messiest roulette I've seen in months.

Funnily enough, the most annoying part was 2nd boss, who states the raid will be weakest to X element, so I dutifully begin to turn the floor-elements to the opposite and then... 90% of the raid intentionally start running all over them randomly and repeatedly to destroy all your progress due to not knowing what to do. Thankfully, my frustrated "If you don't know the mechanic, please stop walking over tiles" comment led to the second one going much smoother.

In addition, my co-healer likely didn't realize that we can now use all cross-class abilities... Not once did they use Esuna vs doom, not even when they got doom on themselves.

The key to solve this is to not esuna them.
