Because the chocobo bags act like a retainer's inventory. You can't use items when interacting with a retainer, same for the chocobo.
Not saying I agree with it, just explaining why.
Hate to point out the obvious..but answer to your problem is put the bloody item in inventory...and use it there.
Inventory is the main hub for selling/buying/using items.
Anything outside that is just pure storage.
For you to go to the trouble of making a "complaint" over something this trivial..is just sad.
Your whole post proves you understand nothing.Hate to point out the obvious..but answer to your problem is put the bloody item in inventory...and use it there.

1. It's not a complaint, it's design feedback.
2. It's not trivial, it's literally what makes the difference between a bad designer and a good one. You are clearly a terrible designer as you don't even understand that design is a relevant topic.
3. Your suggestion of putting the item in the inventory COMPLETELY misses the whole point, which means either you can't read, or you willingly don't read the post you answer to, resulting in a trash post.
The 3 above points make you and your reply what is really sad.
You can keep living in your dreamworld, but if you want to post in this thread, at least properly read the content of it, otherwise I'll have to assume you are just a troll and report your post as you have:
1. Replied to arguments I never made
2. Complained about my freedom of speech by hiding behind a made up accusation of me complaining even when I clarified I'm giving feedback (and to be fair, with 1000 character limits you can't really embellish the posts to make sure people like you don't go emo about negative feedback)
Whoa, whoa, whoa, slow your roll there. While you may not agree with that, let's not start going around reporting random folks just because they don't agree or look down on another person's opinion, ya?You can keep living in your dreamworld, but if you want to post in this thread, at least properly read the content of it, otherwise I'll have to assume you are just a troll and report your post as you have:

I would never do that. Without disagreement there's no discussion.
What I will report though, is someone that, unlike everybody else, repeatedly post for the only purpose of calling someone a whiner, even though all he's doing is rising some issues for feedback purposes, and whose only post with content related to the topic is actually proof of him not even reading/understanding what the original post meant.
That said, I clearly have not reported him as of now.
You can bypass the 1000 character limit by editing your post.2. I also cant see how anyone is complaining about your freedom of speech? Which, btw, probably doesnt mean what you think it means. For example: It does not mean that you're allowed to just say anything (specially not in a private forum like this - insults, naming and shaming and the like will get you banned and your posts deleted because they're in violation with the forum-rules) and it also does not mean that no one is allowed to criticize or questions the things you're saying.
On the matter of inventory: the game has trouble dealing with that since its build on 1.0-code. Thats not ideal. But its not a design choice either - the devs are doing the best they can to give us more inventory without putting to much load on the servers. Stomping your feet wont change that thats not as easy as you'd like it to be. Personally I got quite used to just taking the things I need out of my saddlebag, so I dont really understand the fuss.
In regards to feeding the chocobo - I'm not sure what you're refering to here, but I'd imagine its either for exp or for a colour-change. In both cases the game needs to process certain things (exp-gain, shift in the RGB-scale of the chocobo). In the feeding-case it also needs to load you back into the area you were before starting the cutscene - a cutscene, thats probably mostly for "fluff" to not make this a game of only excel-sheets were numbers change their values.
If you read the full first page, you'll see I have nothing against people disagreeing with me.
That guy isn't even disagreeing with me, since he didn't reply to what I wrote and simply started calling me a whiner. Having a disagreement implies we are discussing the same point, which he is not as the only thing he wrote that isn't a complaint about me having the chance to write a feedback thread (which is what I mean by freedom of speech) is unrelated to the content of the post he was replying to.
Everybody keeps blaming the legacy code. Not sure how you got that insider knowledge, but there's nothing I can reply to such points as I don't know their codebase.
No, what I'm referring to with the choco is that if you train it (I forgot "feeding" has a different meaning in this case, my bad) your screen will shortly go black and then come back to normal. It's like instead of skipping the cutscene where you train the chocobo you get it reduced to a cutscene that is 1 second long and is purely a black sreen.
P.S.
Thanks for the 1k bypass trick
His complaint is more valid and thought out than your complaint of his complaint.
This game is a complete nightmare code wise and SE does not give the devs enough time or money to actually fix the game so instead the devs have to find creative ways to work around the existing code. This game was also hampered by the limitations of the game console so that was another difficulty to overcome.
If it was possible to just add additional primary inventory the devs would, but since it is not, they developed the saddlebag system.
