    PC Monitor Size

Was going to go with tech support originally, but it's not really a technical issue per se. I usually play on a PS4 Pro on a 55 inch 4K TV. I have a desktop built specifically for FFXIV but haven't played much on it until today. The graphics are so much smoother and more crisp. The problem is, my monitor is a 32 inch, and everything is so smashed together. Lowering HUD size just makes the text nasty looking.

What size do you guys play on? I run dual monitors for school, 32/2x for research on one side typing on other. But I have a spare 42. I'm wondering if I should trade off the dual for the 42, or just buy a bigger one all together.

I play on a 24 inch. How is everything smashed together on 32 lol. I just use 100% scaling in the options. Never had a problem.

I also play on 100%. I noticed it when the mining node screen overlaid the level bar for the node itself. That made me start looking, and I also noticed my right side cross bar for my CDs also overlaps the quests on screen. There's just not enough room on screen at 100% with a 32 inch.

Also, when I lowered it down to 80, it made the text nasty looking and scrunched up.

I run 3x 27" monitors. Needless to say, learning to keep track of the mouse cursor takes as much skill as my rotations when I'm raiding. Generally speaking, I will always use IPS panels for gaming as TN panels make the red water come out of my eyes. IPS is super sharp and has good colors for the most part.

I wouldn't even attempt to try and maintain concentration on 3 monitors at once. But I don't care for explanations on color or anything. The size is what I am wondering about. I feel there isn't enough room on screen for a 32. Everything overlaps each other. Is this something you guys just have become used to?

You can move them. Just adjust your hud. I have my hotbars at 80%, because they don't need to be big.

Screen size doesn't matter, a 1080p display will have the same amount of "room" at 16 inches and at 55 inches. You are used to playing on a 4k monitor, you have 4x the screen space on that VS 1080p.

80% actually made everything fit nicely, but most of the text is just super washed out and nasty looking now. I guess I'll either have to get another 4k or get used to it.

It depends on how far you sit from the monitor. From my desk, 27" is perfect. The rest is HUD adjustment, ala what Lenneth said. However, if things are blurry you may need to mess with the monitor settings. Could be the game, could be the panel, could be the driver settings.

Playing on 24'' ISP for years, including raiding and such. I was playing a bit on a 27" but it felt like everything is too big with 100%UI or has too much space that I don't pay attention at on the sides with the 80%UI size. So I keep 27" for work only
