You are still making excuses for SE here. We are talking about housing, RMT are a whole different can of worms. In other MMOs, like you wanted to point out, there are no problems with people selling houses at inflated prices, because those companies took a moment to create a system that distribute houses in such a way that its not a big deal. Everyone has access to a house.
Lets look at an example. In ESO Bethesda allows you to buy houses with in game currency at very reasonable prices or via their cash shop and to add sugar to this already delectable dessert, for every dollar you spend on a sub you get cash shop credit, so 6 months worth of a sub (which can be paid in bulk) gives you enough to buy the biggest house in the game and everyone can have one and all you alts can share it. This eliminates the need to buy gold or to create a housing market with inflated prices. They thought ahead, created a system that is fair and frankly, works wonderfully. Let's not even get into how much better their housing system is overall. They took time to create it and make sure things worked well. SE rushed it to get it out as fast as they could, which is why its has issues like blinking and furnishings have all kinds of arbitrary rules that feel antiquated. Frankly I like my ESO houses, where my mounts and minions can roam and I can put a bed on a table if I want and I can lean a chair against a wall. But I digress.
Being an apologist for poor design is not going to improve the system. Which is why we should stop fighting with each other, its SE at fault here, purely and simply. If they would change the system or create a better one they could easily eliminate the problem they themselves created.
Ever since relaunch we sit here pointing fingers at each other for things beyond our control, when we should be putting more pressure on the devs to fix what they broke
