I understand that the RNG timer is a good thing, and I don't dispute it mostly. I do think however that if buying it for an FC you should be able to bypass it.

I've just spent nearly an hour clicking the placard of an empty plot trying to purchase it for my FC (we dont have a house, and I dont even own a personal), but we are restricted to the same timer.

I know some people have abused this system on some servers with multiple FC's, but we are just looking for a home.

Blame the house flippers that made the housing market so bad that SE had to step in, and it wasn't always just individuals buying flipped houses either, there were quite a few FCs that were shelling out gil and sometimes $$ for a flipped house.

Would be nice though if there was some kind of visual indicator though that a house was available to be purchased.

Bad idea as it could be abused by bots intercepting the information to the client or the less advanced bots by abusing the visual change. In both ways they would be able to buy the house before you even see the change on your map what would make impossible to compete. Not sure if here we have same delay like on MP when you click too fast between items, but if is present that means everyone have equal chance.

Several hours later and I still can't buy it, this is ridiculous at this point. There is multiple empty plots open now and literally all of them are 'This plot of land is not yet ready for purchase'. I'm getting really really frustrated.

I doubt SE would do that for FC's since players are already trying to bypass the timers by putting dummy FCs to transfer housing ownership that way.

Make FC, buy house, go to reddit to sell house, buyer joins FC and buys house, seller leaves FC, house now belongs to buyer in a solo player FC.

It's roundabout as hell, but it was happening.

Enabling FCs to bypass the timer completely defeats the purpose of the timer. Solo players weren’t the only ones selling plots. I know it’s annoying, but it is necessary. House flippers are why we cannot have nice things.

And i know this is in no way helpful, but for the first 2 weeks after the wards opened the only people who could purchase land were FCs. Individuals could transfer to a new plot(as could FCs), but that doesnt reduce the number of open plots. So the FCs already had an advantage.

They can also check the placard consistently for hours/days without breaks. Might as well make it easier for actual players to see if something actually available.

But then they are easy to spot. Even if SE doesnt have right now any mechanism to spot this kind of bots it would be easy for them to make one, e.g. if a character does more than X amount of clicks in Y amount of time GM gets the notification and can easily check what is going on. Actually this is so easy to spot that no bots are using this actions anymore and i saw GM fighting all sorts of bots in other games (as FF isnt my 1st MMO). Other solution would be some random timer for checks with long pauses but then there is no point to run them and legitimate players are back in the "game" with same chance to grab the plot.

Players have to make those clicks too if someone else is around, or else they risk losing it. I had a friend camping a placard lose the plot because he stopped clicking to type something to someone RIGHT when it became available to purchase. That wouldn't work either.
