XI's story was pretty good, but the writing was pretty shoddy, suffering from long, rambling monologues, undying cutscenes and uneven pacing, with the PC often just wedged in as an awkward spectator. Don't get me wrong, not denying it was good, but there have been several MMOs with some pretty amazing stories, including some that did them better.
