Not to mention, it isn't like FF was the first JPRG. It was quite obviously unorthodox by the standards of the genre.

I don't understand how FFXI isn't on their greatest list. FFXI was amazing and is still the only MMO to tell an amazing story, and in such a great way. Not even TOR was able to beat FFXI's storytelling.

cuz its an mmo, thats why its not on there
and its the same reason 14 shouldnt have even been on it
mmos and console games are 2 entirely seperate monsters

I'm a big fan of XI, but Shakespeare it was not, nor is it the only MMO notable for story! XI's story was pretty good, but the writing was pretty shoddy, suffering from long, rambling monologues, undying cutscenes and uneven pacing, with the PC often just wedged in as an awkward spectator. Don't get me wrong, not denying it was good, but there have been several MMOs with some pretty amazing stories, including some that did them better.

Are you bound by some NDA? I'm curious which MMO's you thought had better story.I'm a big fan of XI, but Shakespeare it was not, nor is it the only MMO notable for story! Or are you saving that for your extensive blog with 0 comments, followers, or members. Wouldn't want to deprive all your fans of the scoop.

XIV is atm the worst FF game ever made no one can argue that. Now it is also one with a huge potential to grow into something great... but atm yea the game is still not acceptable for a FF game nor a mmo in that matter.
That review actully was more positive then I expected from IGN. They said the game has potential more or less.
I just love how they just pick some weird random time to kick the game in the balls a bit more, as if they didn't do so enough already when it came out.
Forget worst ever FF, at launch and to a lesser degree now, calling this the worst game ever was not an outrageous statement.
