I think i found a solution for SE to let us upgrade the TT deck.

Main reason for SE for not letting us upgrade our deck (at least i think), because then they have to rewamp all the existing NPC-s, and it would ruin the balance between new and old players.

    BUT i think i found a solution.

We need a new rule to npc's and for pvp that can syncronize with the card restrictions and the card counts.

There should be a new rule, called: deck restriction. Sounds weird. But it should look like this:

"Deck Restriction: Rank 1" - wich means you can only use rank 1 restriction cards, when you had less cards back in the game, if you remember: 1x ★★ or higher + 4x ★.

"Deck Restriction: Rank 2" - which means you can only use rank 2 restriction cards against this opponent: 1x ★★★ or higher + 4x ★★ or lower.

"Deck Restriction: Rank 3" - which is the currently highest restriction you used to have: 1x ★★★★ or higher + 4x ★★★ or lower.

"Deck Restriction: Rank 4" - which should be the next level tier: 1x ★★★★★ + 4x ★★★★ or lower.

Most of this is already in the game if you have less cards, but now the game could force you to use these kind of restritcions against certain NPC's, or low level players.

So in order to use this system, the game has to ask you when you don't have a deck for this rule, that make a new deck OR use automatic deck building for that match.

Older NPC's should have rank 3 rules or lower so players that unlocked the next tier won't feel too strong against them.

Playing against a new player who has less cards and is in a lower tier you can't put a rule that allows higher tier card restriction. Except in tournaments.

You really wouldn't have to go that far. Just doing something as simple as letting in one 4* card into our decks would really shake the game up. As it is, there are over 200 cards in the game. You get the last upgrade for using unlimited 3* cards when you get 60 cards of any level. That's ridiculous compared to the number of the different rarities there are.

For comparison's sake, there are currently 29 1* cards, 51 2* cards, 74 3* cards, 34 4* cards and 32 5* cards. You can fully unlock deck customization options just by going for 1-2* cards. That's not that hard to do anymore since the drop rates on 1-2*s are so high. If someone really likes Triple Triad, it's very easy now to get a competitive deck.

However, the cards that are actually viable in tournaments is really, really small due to the deck limitations. 8s are effectively As for all but the one 5* card in people's decks. And there are not that many 3* cards with two 8s on them. We've got enough 3-5* cards to have a lot of strategy to PvP tournaments, but with the current deck limitations, it's so predictable that most of my matches end up as Draws. There simply is too much restriction for anyone to be creative. Except maybe with counterpicking a 5* to combat the most common 5*s and even that's pretty limited; Cloud Strife is pretty broken and will continue to be until we are able to get more cards with numbers higher then 8 in the deck.

The reason why it could be better with my system so there would be a reason to collect and have cards with ★-★★ strenght. For example if there would be a tournament with restriction rank 1, then you can only use 4x ★ star and 1x ★★ or higher card in that tournament, considering how many low ★ cards are out, it could be a real brainer on what cards you want to use, it could be surprisingly fun.

Without this restriction rule system and if there will be no change in TT at all and will stay everything as it is then after you get 4x ★★★ cards you will never ever use a ★ or a ★★ card, not even once in any tournament. (and not even a ★★★★ either, because you would use a ★★★★★ anyways)

What I was saying was that you still have a limit on cards. Instead of having just one 4-5* card in a deck, you can have one 4* card and one 5* card and three 3* cards. The point of 1-2* cards is to be fodder for getting 3-5* cards anyway. What should not be fodder are 4* cards, which they currently are. This would make the 3* cards more interesting as they can be flipped more often in games so number value and set-up would be more interesting to play with.

I'm honestly less concerned with how "fair" the game is for Triple Triad newbies (it never is, that's the point of playing against NPCs) and more concerned with how much strategy the Triple Triad veterans can get out of the game. Also a concern is doing the least amount of changes to the game as that has more of a chance of being done then re-balancing the game from the ground up.

I like this idea a lot. Anything to use all these cool 4 star cards.

Yeah. Right now the 4 star cards may as well not even exist. Let us do 5,4,3,3,3 or something.

I like the idea of 5, 4, 3, 3, 3. 4 stars are pointless as it is, and this would give them purpose.
