Lost Inferno Lamp without opening the box

Steps:

1. Ifrit is at 1% when I start to get R0
2. Disconnected and couldn't even access forums or Lodestone for couple minutes
3. I came back online, dead somewhere, I don't know where but it wasn't the start area or Bowl of Embers
4. When I got raised, I checked that I had won Ifrit fight, lost lamp but didn't get any items. I thought you are only supposed to lose the lamp when opening the box.
5. That elvaan in Gridania ate 5 of my tapers to poo the lamp again.

its not when you open the box its when you win. My first ifrit win the whole party wiped. the chest popped but we were all dead. Needless to say we all lost our lamps and no one opened the chest.

You're not supposed to lose the lamp without opening the box. Found this from the 1.19 patch notes...

* Players who complete the objectives of "Bowl of Embers (Hard)" without obtaining the reward may freely reattempt the battle without having the quest reissued.

I guess I could've just gone in again without getting a new lamp. But you can't see if you have a lamp from anywhere.

the reward may be referring to the xp from the npc and not the chest. its not 100% clear to me. I can definitely see how it can be interpreted that way though.

When I do it I only ever see in the chatlog that I lose the lamp as I open the chest
