Hrothgar Introduction

We have had an introduction of sorts to every new playable race so far except Hrothgar. With Au Ra we were introduced to them through the MSQ with Yugiri. For Viera we had Fran in the Ivalice Raids.

Would it be possible, although probably unreasonable, to have a small quest before 5.0 that introduces them to the game? Say maybe a small side quest where we rescue one or two of them fleeing some Garleans?

If you've completed the latest MSQ, you're right outside the door to the new area which is nowhere near Hrothgar territory. We might however get a quest involving the Ronso fleeing something in the new areas!

I do believe we will probably head near the Hrothgar homeland in 6.0 so that scenario will probably come true eventually.

They'll be introduced in 5.0 storyline, we'll have a choice between asking what their problem is or asking what they are, and they'll ask what rock we've been living in that we've never seen a Ronso before if we choose the second response. If we are Hrothgar...they'll question if we hit our heads.

I don't see a need for a specific quest to introduce them. The others are all introduced 'naturally' during the course of the story and have a reason to be there.

A special quest out of nowhere just to introduce a Hrothgar character with no other reason to exist beyond saying "hi, I'm a Hrothgar, we'll be all over the place in a month or so" would seem pointless and forced.


That said, we still have the "Make It Rain" seasonal event in July, which would be an obvious place to fit in a non-permanent introduction.

Hmm. I guess you are right about it being forced. And no introduction does avoid the "Yugiri" problem if you already are a Hrothgar. (Yugiri problem being you are a Au Ra and she says she's hiding her face for fear of Eorzean's reactions.)

I also didn't think about how hard it would be to do this and all the work that would go into it. Translations being a massive undertaking alone.
