Is desynth dead?

I've leveled my desynth and I made gils while leveling it but now at 330+ it isn't worth at all. The Lost Allagan pieces still give pre 70 mats and Battlecraft III which is worth about the vendor's price right now...

Will Desynth ever get useful again? I feel the concept was great during 2.x but it has died down now.

A simple example is running an expert and I get an armor piece. Well, I get more value turning the item into Grand Company seals and buying ventures and those ventures will bring me more items which I can make profits than the desynth result. Same with turning creations into lost allagan pieces over buying scarlet urushis and make torreya lumbers which are about 40k each on my server.

Battlecraft III became insanely devalued when it became able to drop from white crafted Stormblood items. I have no idea why they did that. It wasn't particularly hard to get to begin with, considering all the stuff it drops from.

Fieldcraft III and Mastercraft Demimateria are quite valuable. You may also be able to get good mileage out of desynthing items that can drop Glass Fibers. I just wish they'd add another desynth-unique item.

On Ultros you can make lots of money desynthing and creating Mastercraft Demimateria and Fieldcraft III. Outside of those two Desynthing is dead on our server.

SE has not added a new desynth commodity forever. Strangely though they keep adding old ones as core ingredients. As far as I can tell SE's goal is to keep Desynthing around as a relic system used for crafting, but not require more than 100 points inside the system, because they have no desire to review its painful leveling process.

Personally I'm ok with this outcome, but it does feel awkward.

so basically there's no point to get to 330 since mastercraft are 2.x items. That's what I thought lol

They pretty much stopped adding new unique items to desynth starting from HW. No higher grade demis after Field III and Master I. No more primal demis. No exclusive glamors from fish desynth any more.

So raising your desynth skill beyond ARR level now only provides materials that can be obtained outside of desynthesis, and the same existing demi types as lower level desynth.

I still try to cap mine each patch just for, I don't know, ocd raising the bars and possibility that something rewarding may come up eventually.

Leveling your desynth beyond 100 and on more than one class also has a benefit in that you have more stuff you can obtain without much effort for desynth, like old gear.

Very unlikely. It would be too hard for people with no funds that dont like crafting. I feel the relic will be exclusively for Eureka.

This leaves that Desynth is good until 130150 to get mastercraft demimateria and fieldcrafts III. Not much to be gain to level it beyond that point... I did it because my OCD compels me to max it but that's about the only satisfaction I am getting.

Didn't they say in an interview that there was a big outrage with the ARR relic requiring those desynth items to complete so they were going to stay away from that? Even the crafted items in HW you could alternatively get with GC seals. It seems Eureka is the only system in place for the relic.
