    [dev1206] Combo Visual Effects

Ever since the introduction to combos, I've felt them to be a little off, but really couldn't pin point why it made me feel that way.

The other night when farming keystones for moogle on my THM, I started to look at more of the visual effect aspect of this system and it always translated to me as a tutorial to combos, yet... a permanent tutorial.

I think the visual effect should be dealt with in the same manner as the help bubbles as when you get comfortable with your combos you should be able to turn the visual effect that is placed on the character and mob off leaving the highlighted skill on your bar to signal you have pulled off that part of the combo.

Does anyone else feel as if the effect cheapens the look of the game? Do you have any other opinions on how combos should be balanced in general?

Please pass this information on to the Devs!

I am still unsure on this myself (if I would keep them on or off given the option that is).

The main thing that puts me off at the moment is the fact all jobs have the same combo animation.

I do think that now the actual underlying mechanic is in place, creating more impressive, class/job specific animations (even a change of colour would be a start!) could possibly work really well as that extra bit of visual uniqueness when you aren't wearing JSE.

I like the extra combo effect because it's some nice visual feedback. The closest thing off the top of my head that I can compare it to is how every enemy explodes when they die in Kirby Super Star, so you know they are dead. It just feels good and lets you know for sure you've done it. Also it's nice to not have to be staring at the bar as much and instead glance at it at the corner of your eye.

However, I'd of course be all for an option to turn it off or any visual/audio changes to it.
