Account error: Standard subscription model being treated as Entry.

So this morning, my FC shared the news that balmung was open for creating new characters. Having wanted an alt for a while, I jumped up, loaded up my character creation file, and tried to create a new character on balmung.

At the time, balmung was definitely open for new characters. The relevant webpage had the "o" next to balmung and not the "x". other FC members reported succesfully creating alts.

However, when I got to server selection, I was given this error:

Of note: the number of characters is a red 1.

I went and double-checked mogstation for what subscription model I was on, and confirmed it was standard.

The subscription type confirms "standard" and the characters list only has one entry.

And, later on, I triple-checked the error message when balmung was confirmed as closed for new characters:

Definitely a different error message, but the red 1 tells me that my account still has the same "Entry" subscription model error.

To confirm the issue, I created a new character on a different server, then tried to make an additional character on that same server. I got the same error message as from the first balmung attempt.

So essentially, I'm 100% sure that I'm not getting what I paid for. My subscription status is being treated as "Basic", when I have been paying a standard subscription all this time.

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

The screenshot of your Mogstation account does say "Entry" under the subscription type. I'm not sure where you are seeing the word "standard" in the subscription field, but your subscription type is not standard. If you want to double-check, have a look at how much was paid. If it was $14.99 (USD), then there is a problem as you were given an entry sub for a more expensive price. If it is $12.99 (USD), then you purchased the Entry level subscription.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

I see. I was looking at "account type", which says "standard" to the right of it. And I had previously used a game time card to add game time for two months, and it said that I had to upgrade from my entry subscription, so I assumed I was still under standard based upon that information.

Thanks for showing me the right place to look at that info!

Thank you for the update JohnnyDevo.

That 'Standard' refers to you owning the full game (as opposed to the free trial).

This thread will be moved to the 'Closed Concerns' subforum as the thread creator has found a resolution to their issue.

Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
