    The maximum zoom distance should be limited & need to reduce some bosses size

    I am talking about the immersion, the presence,

    Now people mostly zoom as far as possible, because the boss mechanics (they need some changes too?)
    that make us look so tiny, to “fix” this visual issue,some new bosses size are too large,
    that looks weird, unnatural & less engaging

    The goal is to make the game more fun, it is a design problem & logic ,
    Not because: "I need to zoom out to dodge something", it's because YOU CAN ZOOM THAT FAR, so there are more AoEs, & the AoEs are larger, the bosses are larger, and our characters are so tiny,

    it's not fun if the game mechanics force you to zoom very far, or the mechanics are designed under such zoom distance (large AoEs),
    or the boss size is stupidly big, you've to zoom very far to see what's happening, that's not fun

    Sigma v2, boss is very large, but it doesn't help much, it doesn't look very powerful or deadly, because the zoom distance is very far

    Yes Malzian, now we have too much AOEs, that's boring


    another good examples:





    I can use the default zoom in the XIV low level dungeons, but lately, this become impossible, I've to zoom very far to dodge the AoEs, to dealt with the boring"jump rope" mechanics,
    the high level boss fights in XIV are more like an old Diablo game...

    You need the zoom distance for the size of our arenas and the AoEs. You reference 1.x, but remember that 1.x had a very different combat system where AoEs weren't as prevalent. For the MHW reference, the games are nothing alike so the comparison is moot. Sephirot and others were legitimately large monsters, Shinryu even more so, but you can't have our current combat system with wide AoEs and shove the camera that close...

    You can always choose not to zoom all the way out if you prefer that perspective?
    While its certainly true that most boss-fights require you to have an overview of the battlefield to react to changes there, depending on your class (and the fight) you can spend a certain amount of time zoomed closer in. And be aware that those mechanics that require you to pay attention to the battlefield arent only AoEs since you complained about those.
    Seriously, the game isnt zooming out for you, thats your choice. You could choose to play the game in first person after all...

    I find the camera in this game to be one of the best things it has to offer, you can set it to any distance that makes you happy!...

    It's mostly tanks and melee DPS that need to zoom out the most otherwise it becomes almost impossible to see what's on screen!...

    Garuda 1.0 was so much bigger than 2.0 it was so awesome and better because it was 1.0.

    Also maybe you should experiment the bosses for yourself instead of watching some YouTube video.

    My only complaint with the camera in XIV, is the fact the dumb boss has to be completely within the borders of my screen, to be able to target it... This issue is very annoying as a Lalafell.

    It's funny you use a MHW screenie as good....Cuz it irritates me to no end when the monster disappears from my screen with dual blades when i'm under neath it.... Or I "phase" through the monsters model. On the other hand I do find myself instinctively trying to zoom out ffxiv style in mhw because of it.....

    I want to be able to zoom out farther... Especially with some of the newer bosses that even at max zoom out I'm unable to fit onto the screen. And some that have mechanics tht you can only see triggers for from outside the arena.

    i dont see the issue in boss size at all, that tells me they're a boss not a normal mob, honestly no issue here with it at all. I wouldn't even think to treat it like a boss if it was the size of us most of the time. plus why are you even moving the camera to the sides? zoomed out you should be able to leave it in the center with no issues, i play maxed zoom and see almost everything unless they go off arena like levi, my screen is 1920 x 1080 though so dunno if this helps me out vs someone with a tiny screen but still, moving like say your camera to where the paintings are blocking it seems more hindrance then helping, just my opinion.
