why even compare one of the most rude cultures in the world to one of the most polite.

Edit*
Nvm, not important. Political discussions are like sarlacc pits.

Becuase of post like this
Our discord has multiple fc on multiple worlds we really need the cross server LS.
Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.
Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!
Your personal feelings don't qualify as high crimes and misdemeanors. Moreover, you should look up Ted Kennedy. IIRC he killed a person through negligence and was allowed to continue serving as a senator. Oh, and then there's Robert Byrd. We could go back and forth on this. It's just an example of why no one should throw stones in glass houses.

Eh, I've played lots of games over the decades with lots of people across lots of genres and platforms. Both cooperatively and competitively. It's all the same. I've gotten shit from Japanese players all the time when I played some region-free console games. I've had to listen to plenty of European or Australian guys go on racially-charged rants for no particular reason. And I work in an international airport, so I get the pleasure of being around this all day long, both online and off.
It just doesn't matter.
People everywhere are shitheads.
Is it worse in America? Maybe. But it really just seems like splitting hairs.
You're going to have bad apples wherever you go, it's not just N/A. I personally find that 90-95% of people tend to be quite pleasant. This is just life. Some people are cool, others just suck and that's reality.
Long-standing cultural differences, caustic political climates, and online anonymity all factor into it. That's not to say abusive tendencies aren't a global thing (they are), but America and parts of Europe are certainly more guilty in comparison, and for frankly obvious reasons.
You can't use the item yet, but you will be able to in the future. These gear items can be desynthed or turned into seals later. Saving something for future use is an appropriate use of the greed roll option. I do wish they allowed us to exchange and desynth all items immediately, though. If people want an item so they can wear it, they can always play the job which can equip it.
What is actually annoying is when people use the need option for purposes which basically destroy gear, like desynth or seals. If any leftover gear is equally valuable as the thing you're rolling for then you don't really need it and should use the greed option just like everyone else in the party.
The Trump thing made me laugh. There aren't a lot of things left that the guy doesn't get blamed for.

I think the main problem is confirmation bias. Some people have a preconceived notion that American culture is inherently bad and that Japan is the land of milk and honey, so they latch onto instances that reflect such and ignore instances that indicate otherwise.
I play on the Lich server in the EU datz centre. Since I started this game last summer, I have never come across total arseholes or self ritcious pricks. Infact, bar the odd heated exchange when wipes are happening, people have been pretty welcoming and friendly. I would hazard a lot comes down to just how small we are compared to the larger data centres in the US and JP.
In these forums I see a lot of complaining about standards of players, but it always baffles me because I have very rarely seen it.
When I use to play WoW, you would get some pretty annoying people, which I put down to a much larger player base and more immature players. I have also played a PvP based MMO called Knight Online and even though it was a US based server, it is massively popular in places like Turkey and Peru, in net cafes and it's seriously toxic and corrupt. So I think FF just has the right mix with the EU data centre.
