Pretty sure that the person claiming that is just pulling hyperbole out of nowhere as a flimsy excuse to explain why they 'shouldn't' ban people over this. XI banned like... 550 permanently and 2-300 temporarily over this (at least during the "massive" ban wave).

I have no idea who in this thread has or hasn't used it (minus those who admitted to it for testing purposes) but I will be interested in seeing how many of these names pop up in the "I was banned unfairly" complaint thread once the bans do go out.

The thing is if SE actually rolls back achievements, earned items, and gil earned through using the exploit, most players having all their ill-gotten gains deleted would likely just leave the game in a huff anyway.

But seriously, if you're still attempting to use it today, you're just asking for trouble at this point. Don't experiment!

I've seen a whole lot of hatred and salt floating around since this whole thing came to light this morning.
I would just like to point everyones attention to something that happened BACK IN MY DAY.
It was basically the exact same thing:



If a player used something that was in the game before being informed it was actually an exploit, it's not the players fault that it shouldn't be in the game/accessible in the first place.
However, now that attention and potential fixes were put in place, my understanding is that from today onward, you use the bad juju at your own peril.

Nobody said 'indiscriminately permabanning' anyone. We said we think that people who knowingly used it to profit should be banned. People who said 'lol watch this' and used it on unsync'd Garuda? Eh. (Although on the other hand I understand the need to be consistent and 'meaningful content' can vary by definition.)

Good thing my post wasn't predicated on anyone saying that, eh? It's something the devs could do regardless, albeit won't be doing it seems.

To simply put: those who used this exploit intentionally really need to start worry. They have good track record of banning these players in the past and never hestitate.

I find it funny about how people are trying to justify their actions about using the bug to exploit content. Even funnier about how people are placing the blame solely on SE for the bug existing which in part it is their fault but they didn’t know it existed. However 100% of the blame for using the bug lies solely on the players who did use it. And people seem to forget that this is SE’s game. If they want to ban the people who used the glitch they have every right too as stated in the ToS. You used an exploit to alter the game i.e. giving yourself an edge over other players trying to get their clears through hard work. You deserve it. SE acted swiftly after finding out. And the only proof people have about the bug being reported was a reddit post with only 20ish reads on it until it blew up a day or two ago. SE is also looking into if it was really reported and if it was why didn’t it get checked. TLDR; you cheated and should get banned.
