I don't think we'll be losing any "abilities". pretty sure they're going to go with the whole upgrade of old abilities kinda like berserk as it is now
Monk has several contenders of useless skills i could see them removing.Id say Tornado kick will go.
Summoner i can see them removing Bio and Miasma and turn them into one skill that cast like tridisaster without the ruin buff.Tridisaster will become a ruin buff that refreshes Miasma and BIO if they are still up.
Likely they'll do more tiering of skills, like Ruin IV to Ruin V and the like. We may get a few new oGCD abilities, but I think they'll do more things like traiting up older skills to change potencies or add effects.

I'd rather see some skills merged than outright removed.
Especially the various finishers. Agatha Assassinate Mercy stroke if it still exists. They spend 80% of a fight grayed out and might only be pressed twice in the last 20%
There's no reason that button can't do something else the rest of the time...
Also combine things like straighter shot and refulgant arrow. The straight shot button could easily change to refulgant arrow whenever there's a proc for example.
Could merge ley lines and between the lines into 1 button as well. There's quite a lot you could condense without actually getting rid of anything.

I've been playing a lot of RDM a lot recently and I think Impact will either go away or it'll become a trait where Jolt just upgrades into it randomly without the need for 2 buttons. I never use Tether either. BRD kinda has the same thing with Refulgent Arrow.
For DRG
- I can see combos made to work like PvP where the button changes to the next weaponskill in the combo, That would save a lot of hotbar space which new abilities can take.
- Also finishers like Wheeling Thrust/Fang and Claw cannot be activated at the same time so could be merged
For Tanks
- They feel a bit samey, I even have my hotbars set up in very similar fashions so muscle memory kicks in across them. The button bloat here seems to be Defensive Cooldown 'rotation' (being Rampart et al). If only some of those abilities could be erased and their effects added onto combo added-effects. Because theres so many defensive cooldowns and plus add the ones each job gets, they dont feel special or have any 'oomph' to them.
All Jobs
- Role skills as a whole it would be great if they disappeared. 5 slots to free up would give space for 70-80 skills.

Wow, I was gonna make a thread just like this too... still might as this seems to be a loss thread, mine was ginna be about gains.
I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.
