I read it just fine, thanks. So my point still stands..information you personally don't care for or find significant. Lots of people have actually been wondering about chocobo armor ever since the live letter and now we know it'll be for patch 1.21 for sure. In my book that means it's significant info to people who care about that...that definitely doesn't say they've posted no significant info at all.

It wasn't even more than 5 days ago when they posted that info.

Eh I don't mind stuff like this every now and then. It's him opening up as more than just a director. They post often enough to get away with a fun post every now and then.

I'm anxious about news too, but I still remember xi days. We get a steady supply of news on a weekly basis, and that's a hell of a lot better than what we had before. Would be months before we knew any kind of changes were coming and we had absolutely no say in what went into the game.

Also, in my day we had to walk through 10 feet of snow barefoot to get to HNMs and they literally took days to pop. *grumbles and shakes fist* Damn, ungrateful youngins. *Shuffles away*

Then let the moderators delete it, or the devs comment on it. I mean it's not the right way to say it, but he does have a point. A lot of us don't really care that much about what he's done over the passed week....yeah the culture part was cool but the lack of content was still not there while we have been waiting patiently for information or that poll we were promised.

See that funny word "much" in my quote? That would imply that, yes, some information has been posted, but not a lot.

The "no major" information refers to major issues deemed important from the whole, such as server mergers & payment system information, which are certainly of greater importance than "OMG LOLZORS CHOCO ARMOR!!111!!!!"

Again, english is not your strong suit so I'm just going to leave you to your petty vices and assumptions.

The immaturity of this community is a given, and should be expected by this point. Seeing people complaining doesn't really surprise me at all.

While all the children are busy complaining about what they don't have, it's nice to see some of the community is able to appreciate Yoshida for everything he does. With most MMORPGs, the lead developer is nothing but a disembodied name that we never hear from. Occasionally they'll pop up at conventions or for interviews, but rarely do they take the time to just... ...talk to the community.

The fact that Yoshida is able to just get down with us on a personal level and chat about anything and everything shows just how much he cares about this community. He's not just focused on the game, he's focused on us too. That's a great thing.

Here's to another great year of success.

Yes i was a little disapointed there wasnt any game info but im not going to bring up a storm because of it. I hope you get better yoshi!

While I am really glad the dev team is doing well and all...I think a letter like the one we received is best saved for a social website like others have mentioned.

Since we are not allowed to post off topic threads (They usually get locked really fast if it is not FFXIV game related.) I feel the letter should follow those guidelines too =P Won't lie...I am bit saddened by the lack of FFXIV news and content in the letter...was expecting an epic update with pics, new info, server merge info and polls.

When a public figure expresses his health in a public fashion, most consumers will be more emotional vocally.

And so when someone comes in that does not express their opinion in a respectful manner, i.e. calling the message crap, calling something idiotic/moronic/dumb/stupid, they're going to get a reaction. It's not even white knight anymore, it's human nature.

You can disagree with the specifics of the message. I'm uncertain if the internet has further desensitized people to it, but words that are known for disrespect will effectively provoke those who respect into an emotional and more hostile response.

This isn't FFXIV-specific. Take Steve Jobbs. He passes away. It's announced publicly. People are mourning, they're more emotional and volatile than normal. This is a REAL bad time to use disrespect Apple, Apple products, or Steve Jobbs. One must choose their words carefully during these times. And in general, cutting back on insult words until it's showtime.

Acting like a crybaby don't make you a crybaby, but sure make you annoying.
Anyhow, i for one when i seen the new letter expected something on 1.21, but heck it's just a new year greeting (late because he was at hospital). When you receive a greeting, don't respond "FFFUUU".
Just chill out, the info we waiting will come out when they're ready.
ps: this "we paying so we can say whatever we want" it's getting pretty old, and no more true than before

I'm sure he and the rest of the dev team are putting in crazy hours on this thing. They probably sleep at the office several days out of the week.

The poor guy might suffer a Yasumi Matsuno-style breakdown if he doesn't take some time to rest and recuperate.
