Letter from the Producer, XXIII (01/23/2012)

Read this in the morning it now late night here but came on just to post thank you for that letter it was really intresting to read and see the team that works on this game and always welcome letter like that if they post any more.
Back to the game, been enjoying the gooblue mount and got some more of the recent company quest done so intresting to see whats happening to the world atm.
Hearing about the random events going on but i never around when they start, at least i can read up on it which is good.
anyway happy new year and thank you again.

Can we drop the accusations please.... for heaven's sake. My only opinons of this letter are it was news years letter not a letter about anything upcoming in the game and to be quite clear I would have preferred the latter. although it's nice that everyone had a wonderful new years.

Im going to be really harsh here and take this one step further. im not fucking interested in games developers personal lives or any of that shit lol. I dont come on the lodestone or the forums to read that crap. I come on here to read about one thing and one thing alone and thats the game im playing and what contents is coming. If i want to read about peoples night on the town i will make a facebook account and add people from work. I have Zero interest in this shit lol. It was a dumb letter and i dont want to here any more about personal crap lol. hows that?

As a side note I'd like to clarify something about my post -- I have nothing against people like haku - who simply asked hey please can we have info? That's one thing.. my post is directly aimed at this crowd .. and people say the defenders are rude? I think we have a right to be when people are being blatantly rude on the forums. If your being a dick, expect to be treated like a dick.

Tbh, id rather he keep all this crap on twitter or facebook so people who care can read about it, i just want to read whats coming to the game personaly.

Didn't touch at all the topics that the community is really worried about, like server population/mergers. Only good part was the mention of a young woman with a few drinks in her, almost seemed like it would get interesting but...

I laugh at the whole community.

I won't be like half the community and kiss *** saying that I'm happy that he tells us how life is and whatnot. Yeah it's nice to see that he's doing alright, I can understand that. But we are also paying customers that want to know what is happening to our game.

What happened to the poll? I've been waiting patiently to see what he has planned for the future and what the poll is actually about. I want to know what he wants to do about the server merges/changes. What about the next patch? If you weren't upset about seeing this instead of information on the next patch, you are lying to yourself lol. I won't lie like everyone else and say "Oh my god, NA community sucks" blah blah blah. I'm sure there are other people in other places just as pissed/annoyed. The NA community is vocal about a game they are now paying for. Blogs/personal experiences should go in a blog section IMO and not another letter. I was so happy to see Letter from the Producer on the lodestone when I got out of class. Then I was annoyed. It was a cute read, but I don't really think it's necessary lol.

And to the people calling everyone trolls/***holes/stupid and defending the letter, you aren't doing anything for your cause. Your just digging the same hole everyone else is.

And what does calling you that have anything to do with what I said with the Yoshi post? Seems like you got your panties in a bunch of what I said about the community more than what I said about his post.

I said this before but I'll say it again since everyone seems to keep bringing up "It's a New Year's Letter, why are you all so heartless?"

Yes it's a New Year's greeting... in late January. It's 1/23 today folks. This is a very thoughtful letter, and would have been an enjoyable read alone on like 1/6, maybe 1/10, but it's 1/23. We've waited well beyond the holiday drought of information and have thus far only gotten pictures and some lore on a system for 1.21.

(Read whiteknights: it's just pictures and lore, it's not "It might not be important to you..", because they didn't explain the chocobo equipment system at all; it's just pictures and lore)

I would LOVE hard information on 1.21 content (and a rough ETA) as I sit here wondering if I should just cancel my account for the month of February, because I'm a busy college student that has completed most current content and would rather not pay to log on and do nothing for the next month.
