You can do every job, and that (or crafting, or the other two gathering classes you aren't playing) are a majority of people's 'other' time. Games. Triple Triad. Gold Saucer. Housing. Beast Tribes. But if your sole focus is endgame on a tank, this might not be the game for you, because this game focuses on adding a little bit for everything instead of a lot for endgame.

I think this is probably the most accurate response, rather than saying something meaningless like "just TRY leveling some other jobs, even though you said you had no interest in it". This game is not a game suited for a "one main only" type of playstyle, full stop. Expansion endgame content comes out at a trickle because the developers are basically anticipating that people want to level and gear up multiple jobs through the course of a patches' life cycle. I can completely sympathize with the OP, tbh - I'm a healer main, I have some other things leveled but literally don't touch any level-capped content with other jobs because healing is what I like to do. I don't expect XIV to change an aspect of its game design that people really love, but I wouldn't want people to tell me to "just do stuff you're not interested in just for the sake of doing it" if I said I was bored. Instead I think the best response is probably, "play something else until some new endgame comes out for your tank class", which is precisely what I do between content updates.

Couldn't summarize it better, myself. Unfortunately, if you only like one or two features, FFXIV just won't hold your interest for long unless you pour yourself into it. Some people do literally nothing except craft and love it, for example. If you only want to raid with your static and do little else, FFXIV may not be a game you'll consistently play. The overwhelming majority of content is very easy and endgame basically revolves around Savage. I think we're all hoping Eureka offers something else, though it remains to be seen.
