AST gets the most love?

I'm leveling all three healer roles from 60-70, and I have made an interesting observation. I pretty much have the same skill level on all three roles, but for some reason I end up getting the most commendations on AST, then WHM and SCH. The result of the run in terms of dps or healing output on parse is fairly equal. Yet I mostly get 1-2 comms on AST, maybe 1 comm on WHM and almost never get jack squat on SCH.

I know that this is ultimately inconsequential but I just think its interesting that non-healers tend to favor the AST when deciding to give commendation to a healer.

People don't particulary give commends because you're AST or not.
If they think you did a great job as a healer and want to commend you, they will.

If the party you ran with doesn't care about giving commendation they won't.

Look, for example, everyone on forums are crying that Samurai is being hated by the community, yet, when I leveled it up, I got a lot of commend.
Sometimes as a healer, I can get a lot of commendations, and sometimes not that much.

That's a random factor we can't rely on.

The only thing I can see is DPS giving you commend because you properly buff them, and DPS like buffs. But that's pretty much all.

Playing well on a scholar in most content won't earn you many comms.
Using all your resources you can get through most things without ever using a gcd heal. The result is people end up getting low and staying that way until Regens or faerie heals get through. Anytime anyone looks at you you're probably casting briol. During mob pulls you're probably looking like you're going to run out of mana any minute spamming aoes. If they don't know what you're doing you're going to look like you're not taking your job as a healer seriously.

Idk about an ast but everyone else enjoys cards padding out their dps.

When they get that balance they feel like they're the only warrior of light and that's why you get the comms.

From my own experiences, I feel like this is probably the most common reason. People like to be topped. Even if no one dies, letting people stay low doesn't seem to get comms as much as quickly getting them back to full or near enough. And... there was that 'study' someone did tracking a few hundred instances back at the start of HW that found similar. But, people here didn't like it because it wasn't a perfectly controlled experiment.

That said, the climate does shift a bit in a raid setting. I've heard people on pug voice comms comment things like "Both healers are 2k+? That's great." -- as long as no one's dying to lack of healing unavoidable damage, anyways.

AST directly buffs other players in a very visible way, and everyone enjoys feeling like they're loved enough to get a buff. While scholar has Chain Stratagem, it's just not as visible. Meanwhile WHM's Stone IV sound is the loudest thing in the damn game.

It's funny because it's true!

On topic, I haven't noticed any more comms on astrologian than on white mage. The only thing I've noticed is my female lalafell characters get more commendations than my male lalafell characters.

My FC members have noticed the same trend. We have taken to calling them cute points rather than commendations.

Sch really does spend a lot of time looking ridiculous when played well. I bounce from full MP to practically nothing fairly often and Im always a bit shocked when DPS try to help me manage my MP. Aetherflow, Lucid Dreaming, and Energy Drain work miracles and if you know the mechanics of fight you feel no stress leaving people at half health once in awhile. People tend to figure out they are in good hands halfway through a run but you can feel the trepidation at first. I get plenty of coms though so I don't know if people really have an aversion to being healed by a Scholar.
