I'd rather we get a new event. It's been along while since we've had anything brand new outside of seasonal events where we happen to get something other than fates.

With all the shit this event got, it makes me glad I legit never touched it aside from picking up the watch, looked like a massive waste of time for shit I didn't want.
My friend got the shiny mount the first time around, I have never heard someone sound so fucking done with anything before.
Stick it on the mog shop and be done with it. That's how the seasonal events seem to work nowadays. Miss that one opportunity to get it? Pay up a year later, or don't get it at all. At least they give you the option to get it if you miss it, RuneScape for example takes the approach of "You missed the event it comes from? Well too bad, you're never getting that item. Suck it up buttercup." - I daresay I prefer Square Enix's way of doing things. Though I agree the legacy tattoo etc, which were given as thanks from SE for supporting the game through the hellhole that was 1.0, should NEVER be put up for sale. And I speak as someone who never played 1.0 (started late 2.0, got to endgame early-mid 2.1).
White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
It'll probably return and just like the first time it did, I won't do it and hate that franchise for that event alone.
I can assure you, it's an awful, awful, grind. Took me almost 1,000 FATEs to finally get everything. Which is why I found it so comical when the devs looked shocked over how utterly despised Diadem 2.0 was. You gave us more FATEs after Yokai. The hell did you expect? With all the shit this event got, it makes me glad I legit never touched it aside from picking up the watch, looked like a massive waste of time for shit I didn't want.

The second time the event happened was spontaneous and was reopened less than a day after a joke was made that the representative of level-5 didn't finish the event. Bringing back the event is negligible dev time dedicated and wouldn't interfere with new content since yokai is already there and just needs the switch flipped back on.
Because SE doesn't own the rights to Yokai Watch, we will never see their items sold in the mogstation. Cross promotional content will never be able to be obtained outside of events.Stick it on the mog shop and be done with it. That's how the seasonal events seem to work nowadays. I don't see why it has to be a seasonal event, surely they could just have the guy in the gold saucer all the time and the whole thing could be a permanently in place optional grind.
They should do a Secret of Mana event with Flammie mount award
I'd prefer we never saw it or Lightning ever again. New events or crossovers would be ideal.
RE: all the posts saying "Put Yokai merchandise in the Mogstation"
Honestly, the developers probably cannot put the Yokai items in the cash shop, because Yokai is not owned by Square Enix. It was a collaboration with the creator of the series. Where as SE owns FFXIII, and therefore could put the Lightning event items in the cash shop without having to deal with copyright laws, or with splitting profits from selling something that they don't own.
And just because the Lightning event ran 3 times doesn't mean Yokai should either. I recall a lot of whining when the Lightning event returned because it was a rehash and not something new.
