Please remove gil cap

Since we already have 999 items per stack, can we please have an increased gil cap? Like 9.999.999.999? I have no more space in my main character nor retainers to store it, so I have been using alt characters and it is incredibly annoying because can't sell anything with a capped retainer so it has no use.

There are technical issues with having a gil cap that high I'm afraid. They can be overcome but it's a non-trivial task to do it.

Given that the main reason housing is expensive was so it would be a big girl sink yet many players prior to recent changes still could afford multiple houses, I doubt they'll ever raise the cap.

I've thought about this and I think the cap might be a good thing to prevent consolidating too much wealth on a single person. As a multi-billionaire you're far beyond having a reason to keep earning. Would be nice to donate gil to friends or spend huge amounts on value items on the marketboard to uncap your gil so then you'll still be extraordinarily wealthy but have a nice collection of things too. If the gil cap was a digit higher you'd be able to manipulate the market even more than you already can now, like buy out every listing of every materia type and every minion.
