Hi,
As title says, why does the Rook Autoturret die in V2S during the earthquake mechanic?
Is this intended? Is it needed?
I think it's very unecessary to have the rook turret die twice for no reason at all in the fight.

It disappears when you turn into aeroplane. Not...entirely sure why, but resummoning the turret isn't too bad a hassle.
Thats true. It's a bit silly but also compared to other pets resummoning the turret is instant and free. I wouldn't mind if this was addressed/fixed but I kind of got used to just plopping Rookie back out as soon as my boots hit the ground.
You're actually right - it doesn't die but it disappears when you mount.
It's just annoying and unecessary to be honest especially considering HC comes up afterwards and depending on the instance server it will cause you to clip or delay. There's no reason for Rook to disappear, that's my point.
I'm not disagreeing with you ^_^ It is silly for Rook to disappear especially when other pets don't.
I'm blessed with a decent enough connection I suppose, where I don't experience any clipping in pulling the turret back out. I also use a macro that just drops it on me so I don't have to aim it.
My current theory is that it's because it's a stationary/placed pet. Earthly star, which is also a placed stationary pet is also removed altogether when you jump on a mount. Annoying for AST, but you can work around it.
When you mount with a regular pet it is stashed away but its current timers tick down (any current buffs will eventually fade, they are not frozen in duration). When you dismount they reappear in one of 8 positions around you rather than their old location.
If the behavior of stationary pets is not intended, then my suggestion is to also let them be stashed away but to respawn at their last recorded location instead of by their master - as long as it's within an acceptable range, existing timers tick down (so if earthly star's timer elapsed, it would just fade) and as an owner you're not in Narnia relative to where the pet would be. This is data SE definitely will have at hand before the pet is withdrawn.
