If you're tired of levelling through potd then run dungeons instead. And roulettes. Especially the alliance roulette, once you get it, gives a lot of xp for the run. I prefer running dungeons to level over potd because there's more variety, plus you'll actually be running your class/job in its proper role in the group and get experience playing it as that. If you're playing a tank you'll have almost no queue times for dungeons, plus you'll often get more bonus xp in roulettes for being Adventurer in Need.

Levelling from 1, go kill some random bugs or do some leves until you're 10 then jump into guildhests/more leves until you're 15 then you're ready to go in dungeons. It really goes quickly, especially if you get your hands on the leveling xp bonus ring from the novice hall (and if you have the ala mhigan earrings even more better!). There's an fc xp buff as well, and if you have a squad levelled enough you can send them off for the squad xp buff scroll (which will overwrite the fc buff but it's better than that anyway, although it only lasts 2 hours).

I was AST main, but can't do these cards anymore. RNG hates me.

All i do is lvl-ing up evertything in order to find something i'd like. And it's hell to do the same PotD again&again for every class.

Get DRK, its challenging, quite boring lvling, but rewarding when you hit lvl 70.
You dont have any procs, just pure mechanic, and 2 resources management that corelate to each other in skills.
It may only have 1 useful combo, but thats not all of its skill set.

If not DRK then warrior, its also a lot of fun to play.
Playing a caster/mage in this game is boring anyway.

Samurai is fun and doesn't have any procs aside from one very niche ability. But I'm biased because it's my main. I'd recommend trying a melee dps job though. Seems like you're burned out on casters. Monk is a good option. It's very active. And ninja is always a good choice as well. The queues will suck though.

I would not take it seriously. She only has a RDM to 50 and a THM. SMN non-existent.

If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.

I have the same problem with picking a main but I actually enjoy leveling so I have all the magic and war jobs at 70. I cannot lock down a job to put my upgrades on. It's often a toss up between bard, black mage, and red mage.

I stay with FF14 because of the overall story and themes as well as the art design but I wish I could play jobs that match my favorite class fantasies such as Black Mage and Bard but maintaining so many spinning plates while also trying to play the encounter is too frustrating so I have trouble picking my true main. I really don't like Enochian or Life of the Dragon or other such abilities that make you lose your stacks or timer if you have to dodge alot.

The real irony is that when I want good queues with relaxing gameplay I usually just play White Mage. Of all the jobs and roles, I am actually pretty good at playing healers but they just don't motivate me much. (shrugs)

I find 70 Paladin is this glorious mix of Tanking, Healing, and DPS. Playing all roles at the same time is quite enjoyable. Though when I say Healing I'm not really talking about the use of Clemency. It's more like paying attention to the current well-being of the party almost as much as a Healer. My mind is usually:

"Enmity looks good. Summoner will catch up in a minute though. One of the Healer's just died. Looks like the other Healer is slow raising. And their MP will be extremely low after. Notify the Bard and enter "Self-Preservation Mode." Do I need to Hallowed Ground to make recovery possible? No, just Shield Oath and Clemency should be okay.

Enmity will be a problem soon. My co-tank is about to Tank a big add without focused Heals though. Interjection and Clemency should be enough. Though two greedy DPS have Vulnerability stacks. I should Divine Veil. Damn this Summoner is good though; Co-Tank hasn't Provoked and Shirked me. Notify him.

Though the White Mage just used Curaga XIV before the smalls adds spawned. Gotta use Cover on her. Ah, gotta tell the Bard I can't Cover him on the next knockback. Should be ready before the next Prey marker. Notify the Healer. Co-Tank is at half-health for his Tank buster. Interjection made it in time.

Same DPS just got more vuln stacks!? Better Reprisal and Passage of Arms this laser blast. PRETTY COLOURS. Need more mana for Requiescat in 15 seconds. Enmity is okay. Prey target is on the Monk. Cover is up. Yes I know, you're welcome. Sheltron. Sheltron? Too many Interjections. Oh a Healer just died... Entering self-preserva..... *death*"

Fights are rarely pretty. It's nice playing a job that is able to make almost any situation a bit prettier; and dish out great DPS to boot. Plus it keeps the mind busy. Though somewhere in between you gotta pay attention to the actual mechanics.

If you have a good imagination, I suggest going to a web page which lists all the abilities for a job and figuring out what the rotation is going to be like at level 70. Job guides can also help. If you have a strong dislike of certain play styles, this will help you avoid wasting time on jobs you won't enjoy playing. I use this page: https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Job

PLD uses 2 different combo finishers for dps and has a casting phase every minute where they do 4-5 casts of the same spell. It has a physical dps buff, a magic buff for the casting phase, an oGCD damage proc and party support. PLD has a reputation of having a simple rotation but to me it feels like DRK has taken that spot because it only has one dps combo and a couple of skills to spend a resource.

If you are tired of PotD I'd recommend avoiding dps jobs (unless one of them really interests you) because leveling those in dungeons is not going to be fast with dps queue times. When playing a tank or healer you get much faster queues.

Level a crafter or gatherer if you are having trouble. It is really too bad as there is quite a variety of classes . I hope you find your niche
