Stormblood 3* Crafting Macros for the Lazy Crafter

Hi everyone! Three star crafting is not too hard this time around, but getting there can be a bit complicated with all of the melds, gear and finding a good rotation. To make things easier I have created some lazy NQ food macros for the new three star recipes for both specialist and non-specialist. While using these macros if you want near 100% HQ for end-goods you should start with around 7000-9000 starting quality or 2-3 HQ base ingredients.

These macros shine the best when making 35 durability intermediate materials and 70 durability food. This is due to both the specialist and non-specialist macros having the ability consistently HQ items with low-to-no starting quality. For food and intermediate materials this is great as we often don't have as many HQ ingredients as ideal and simply have to make due. Without further ado here are my lazy Macros using NQ Tempura, no potions and minimum stats. Also thanks to everyone doing theory craft on the boards. These rotations are a composition of techniques and theories from a number of people!

** Note these macros do not have any poor protection for Byregots, so feel free to create an if-branch macro and manually check for poor status. I personally don't because I'm incredibly lazy and don't pay much attention while crafting.

*** Note the specialist rotations list requiring 1520 craftsmanship, the extra 20 is expected to come from your specialist soul crystal (not extra melds). Also note if you are using yellow script mainhand or other equipment you will need to use either HQ Tempura or Cunnings Craftsman's Tea to make up for the missing CP.

Here is an efficient meld set you can use with my rotations, they minimize materia usage and do not require specialist soulstones. You can fill any extra slots with IV control materia for best results:

Note for the 35 Durability Macros I will often craft with zero or low starting quality. These macros will HQ roughly 60% of the time with zero quality, which I've found acceptable for crafting a mix of NQ/HQ materials for use in end goods.

3* Specialist 35 Durability Macro, Slight RNG, 6000 Quality Optimal for HQ:
Required stats 1562 Craftsman and 516 CP || Character stats 1520 Craftsman, 473 CP and NQ Tempura Platter

So some folks ingame have asked me similar questions as the last time I posted macros with patient touch... being patient touch ewwww. So I wanted to share my experience.

I craft lots every week making our FC raid food, my groups raid potions, raid gear for the market, my group, and friends. With the macros above using the recommended starting quality, I haven't had any NQ failures yet. Statistically speaking if you use the recommended quality you're looking at a macro with around 1% NQ chance over around 100 items crafted. For me if I accept one NQ item out every 100 its not an issue because I'll save more than the items cost in skipping HQ food, potions and more expensive melds. The terrible budget melds I posted, are essentially what I'm using myself. I can easily afford more expensive melds, but I just don't need them outside of theory crafting new rotations. Last this approach saves me time and sanity and being a lazy crafter this I love more than anything else!

With all of this said, if you craft one 3 star item a week. You may find that a 100% macro using HQ food and potions to be more efficient, because a single failure will not be offset by your food/potion/time usage. Likewise if you don't craft much and can only afford cheep melds, then you'll likely get more millage out of these macros than the 100% ones which have higher requirements to work.

So pick out what fits your crafting style the best, and have fun with it. And don't fret when you break something, or NQ something. Because trust me... I break things every week not paying attention!

    Good job, Katty!
These look great, and I'll try them out soon! Since they use Patient Touches, can they provide more quality than the existing macros? I am willing to increase the RNG but boost final quality...

The Specialist rotation I posted puts out a small bit of extra quality if both patient touches hit (in comparison to the 100% Reddit macro post). The Non-specialist rotation I posted puts out a MASSIVE amount of extra quality if both patient touches hit and the same quality if only one hits (in comparison to the 100% Reddit macro post). The quality requirements they put on the non-specialist rotation in the Reddit macro are pretty unreasonable at 1536 control. They should have just used a lower control number and noted you need more starting quality.

As for the 35 durability macros mine put out huge amounts of extra quality (with rng). I strongly suspect looking at the requirements posted in the Reddit thread (1550 control) and still requiring 2000-5000 quality that my 35 durability macros are simply superior for the goal. The goal being HQing as many intermediate materials as possible with limited HQ ingredients (if any). I think intermediate materials are probably one of the places patient touch shines in being able to achieve HQ without huge amounts of control or starting quality.

So I think I see what you're getting at Caimie, its quite likely some people may want the 35 durability macros from me, but would then flip over and use 100% macros with HQ food and potions. That would totally make sense and probably be more efficient for most people!

I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for the 35 dura. non-spec macro - has worked like an utter charm for me, with very few NQs even from all NQ ingredients. I do flip to a 100% with HQ food/tea macro for final product, but you've saved me a huge amount of frustration for the intermediate steps!

Hello! Just wanted to say, your rotations are amazing. I despise RNG in this game (been consistently NQing i350 stuff with 96% chance of HQ) but your rotations do wonders on 35 durability items.
