Paid Character Copy.

Hello! I was chatting with some fc members and I was wondering if there would be any interest in a one off paid character copy.

The ability to copy a character to another server, sans gear and items. literraly just the character and their levels. You'd get a basic set if gear of high enough level to start grinding out gear.

items like mounts and gold saucer cards could transfer over. I know square want people to shell out for level skips and such so a one off would be the best solution.

I wouldn't be opposed to this, as it would be a copy of something you've already put in a lot of work on. The character to be copied would need to be on the same account as the one created, of course, and mounts/minions etc can be grinded again with friends on the new server, but I wouldn't be opposed to achievements being transferred with the character so that it retains items etc from now inaccessible events, though I also wouldn't complain if that wasn't the case. I wouldn't care to run around re-collecting aetherites, aether currents and re-opening dungeons and raids that have already been done on that character either though, tbh.

To the same account perhaps. but then I know a few people that would like an option to move characters from one account to another...

husband and wife with 2 charaters on the same account or something such but can't play together cos it means one would have to start from scratch...

or a few players who cant play on the ps4 because they can't unlink a psn account they haven't used for years in order to link there current one. or something such. friend of mine had to create a new psn when he moved because the one he had wouldn't access the eu playstation store..

and sometimes I personally wish I could move my alt to a new account just so I can trade stuff to myself because we still cant mail alts

That can sort of already be done anyway - you can save your character's basic appearance details in character creation to your PS4 or computer and then reload them when creating a new character, thus creating a literal clone (same race/clan/gender/facial appearance/eye colour/hair style/hair colour etc), and then simply purchase a level skip and story skip potion from the Mogstation.

It's a more roundabout way I know, but it's basically the same thing.

Sharing an account with a third party is actually a TOS violation. But I think it's put there so SE won't have to get caught up in disputes like a messy divorce or whatever with two parties fighting over an account. For the most part account sharing isn't a big deal until issues from it arise. Also there's already people selling FFXIV characters/accounts with gear. Also a TOS violation. This is part of why there are jump potions now. While I don't mind people sharing accounts or buying characters, it doesn't seem likely that SE will allow characters to be copied/transferred to a different account.

If I was able to do this then I would explore other worlds. I only have time to play one character and wouldn't start again somewhere else, but if I could just carry one at this level, it would work fantastically for me

Maybe but:
1. No cloning from one account to another - I already see RMT people celebrating this option.
2. Clone from one server to another but same account - Yes but you get same items and level what you would have from "Tales of Adventure: Whatever", e.g. right now that would be lvl 60 character, Allagan Platinum Piece * 30 and Shire Philosopher's Accessories Coffer (lvl 60 gear).

I actually really like this idea, though I wouldn't mind it for alts on the same server either. I sometimes want to play an alt for whatever reason, but the thought of going through the crafting/sightseeing/etc. grind again is just painful and it never lasts. It would be nice if I could copy all that info to a new toon then fantasia/name change to match the new persona and work from there.
