Folklore Tomes?

Hello! I'm confused and I didn't know where else to put this, so hopefully this is fine.

I'm leveling my gatherers, and my friend said I would need the Tomes of Regional Folklore.

Would I need 1 tome for each region AND 1 for each gathering class (3 in total)? Are they a one-time use?
Now that there is SB out, would I need to do the same thing again?

Any other useful information would be helpful. Thanks!

I don't know about need. You can get by perfectly fine without them, but then there will be a handful of items you cannot gather.

Each tome you use will unlock certain items you couldn't gater otherwise. Each of the tomes is separate, so you'd need to buy all of them to get full access.
They are one-time use - once you have used a tome you will not need to use that again.

the latest end game recipes usually require the highest level gathering items which are always locked behind folklore tomes. so if you want to make the monies i would invest the time in getting them.

For HW, there are 9 books.
For SB, there are 6 books.
The books are a one time use. Once you have it, you will be set to gather from all the nodes for the entire expansion.

If you want to collect the books at a relaxed pace, a full collectability rotation turnin for Zhloe and M'Naago will result in about a book a week for SB and nearly 2 books for HW.

Essentially the tomes are books that tell you about legendary places you can gather. Once youve read them, you know the new places. One book per region per class. And as they add more new nodes in the current expansion, the new spots will show up automatically in the folklore section of the gathering log.
