Dear SE, Please no more side/buttcapes

Can we please have chest pieces that don't act as bottoms too? It feels like a most of the recent additions have had a side/butt cape of some kind, or a semi-skirt.

If you are going to put a skirt on a chestpiece, just make the bottom a skirt, and have the top stop just over it. And make the skirts go all the way around please! No more open fronts on them, it takes away more than it adds IMO.

We have so many chest pieces that would look great with many pairs of bottoms, except they hide most of the bottoms because they go down to the knees/have sidecapes/buttcapes.

Please start adding more shorter chest pieces! And also more thigh length skirts. We either have really short skirts, or really long ones, with the exception of a few job specific or role specific ones.

I totally agree with the side or butt capes as you put it. They ruin so many great chest pieces with these extra cloth hanging out of our waists. A lot of the time they're asymmetric and I hate asymmetry!

Between the buttskirts, longcoats and thighboots, I'm pretty sure there's someone with incredible authority on the art team that just hates pants. That's a shame too, because Stormblood has come out with some really nice sets of legwear too.

Yeah, this bothers me too. A lot of the gear just has extra bits for mo reason. The striking and Scouting chests from T13 for example, the little floating plates on the chest. Why?!

Don't forget the many unnecessary buckles and belts all over everything when it doesn't even need it. I'm just going to put four or so belts on this pant leg and maybe put one on the other leg, then put five on one arm, two across the waist with four more hanging off of those...

I agree. It's especially frustrating as a BRD, because most decent BRD pieces all have buttcapes that just ruin the chest piece for me. :C

Actually there are a lot of gorgeous leg pieces in game, even going back to ARR. But yeah, they are covered up so frequently that you would think someone out there doesn't like the designs. The game can definitely use a lot more coats without the side cape thingys, and less thigh high boots.

That's a final fantasy staple, them removing gratuitous belts would be like removing moogles and chocobos.

There are way too many butt/crotch flaps on gear, yes. Please do away with this.
