While I came in during Heavensward, I do recall actually wiping to the final boss in Haukke Manor HM. I also remember hearing about how the original level 50 expert dungeons were actually quite difficult. Kind of wish they’d go back to that.

I do, I was still new to tanking and trying to gear up and half the time I tried that dungeon it was a vote abadon at the final boss it seemed. Really made me reconsider being a tank during that time, though I'll be honest in not remembering whether it was really me being the problem.

The closest I think we have to any enrage and thus DPS requirements in recent dungeons is Zenos, though its much more lenient compared to Haukke. Yet to see any group fail it. Course for all I know its just a hard hitting attack even if it maxes out since I've never seen it do such.

Let me add too:

Soft Enrage = A fight mechanic that will lead to a wipe without the boss just pushing the DIE button. A boss with a damage buff that constantly stacks up until he just deals overwhelming damage you can't handle would be an example of this.

One funny thing about this... Turn 2 of Binding Coil's boss used to be fought with people triggering the soft enrage on purpose. It'd spam a powerful AoE move once time for the dungeon ran out, but many groups found it preferably to spam their own AoE heals for it rather than doing the mechanics.
