As someone who had to work yesterday, spent all day convinced his chances were up after saving for months to get a house, then got home to find plenty of small houses to pick from... I'd say it was a great success! Didn't get one in Shiro, but I'll take any district for a shot of having a place of my own. My only quibble is for SE to please put a notification to indicate when a house may be repurchased. I had half a heart attack running around trying to find one that didn't give me an error.

Looked this morning at 5:00am before heading off to work, did not see anything in mist, gridana or shiru. goblet did not check fully only a few or I would have been late. I also think goblet is worst designed area, but you need to consider do you want to invest in something that you cherish or do you just do it just because of its there.

I know my comment already been brought up by others in this thread but i'll say it again.

Goblet is a personal preference. Saying there isn't any plots left or it was all a failure is a lie though. I'm not saying you are stating this but i seen this kind of comment over and over both here and on Reddit.

If you truly want a plot in a different district or size - get whatever small you want now and :

1a. Wait for next time they open wards
1b. Relocate

2a. Wait for demo timer hit on someone misfortune
2b. See 1b.

I think anyone who really wanted a house was probably able to get at least a small, and thats enough of a bone to not want to bother doing battle with the usual chorus of white knights blindly defending SE

I wasnt around for 4.1 but it must have been pretty bad. After 3.3 I was able to purchase a mansion TWO WEEKS after the new wards opened. Yesterday I didnt get the house I wanted (despite logging in at what seemed like the earliest moment possible lol) and by the time I was able to check the listings every medium was gone.

They arent adding wards fast enough to keep pace with demand, thats a problem, and as customers we do have a right to complain about the matter.

That's fair. Maybe i'm biast cause i work at a company who do develops software and services in telecom sector but i think we all should remember what is reasonable and not blindly take our pitchforks and demand miracles over night. I think SE has a lot of technical limitations and are doing the best with what they got.

They most likely would need a new server infrastructure to give what we want for housing and that cost a lot of money. We do give them a good amount from our sub and mog station but that money isnt going to the devs but into other SE projects

For sure OP! This is the first time i've seen houses for sale this long on Gilgamesh since 2.4. Everyone I know that wanted a house in my linkshells and FC was able to get one. It's great to see people actually excited and happy about housing again.

The only real problem is they need to keep up with demand. They can't keep waiting to add wards until the community is over boiling with vitriol.

Exactly. There might have been enough houses for now but they still need to consider that they need more if the game grows, which means that they need to add more and more wards in the future..I can already see a post where they say that they cant add more wards because the server would collaps otherwise.

I still think that instanced personal housing would have been the best and wards for FC only with the plots being the same size for everyone so that everyone can choose the size of their house. Because in the end I do believe that a lot of people probably still want bigger houses which will never be possible with that system.

All (most) of them, but i will take WoW as i played that game for 12 years - enough to mention Black Qiraji mount or to say a mount what would put the owner among gods. With housing you always have a chance regardless how small it is, with that mount you had only one chance and once is over your desire to get that item - dies. But there are so many other things with more than clear message "you will never again have the opportunity to get it" that i will need several post just to list them all.
Oh almost forgot, at the time when this items were available to obtain there was only few players (literally few) who manage to actually get them. Speaking of "artificial scarcity"... But do you know what was always abundant - snowflakes like you.
