Mouse and keyboard inputs not working

A friend of mine is trying to join me via RAF now that my server is no longer marked as congested, but he's encountering a problem that neither of us can figure out.

The game stops accepting his mouse and keyboard commands. It happens sometimes when he alt-tabs, but sometimes also on launching the game.

It also keeps registering a gamepad being plugged in, even though nothing but his mouse and keyboard were attached to his computer. Trying to disable the gamepad in-game just causes the game to no longer accept inputs from anything.

Editing the config file and changing PadMouseMode from 1 to 0 and then back to 1 again (booting in between) fixes the issue, but only temporarily. He seems to have to do it again every now and then. He also had to change PadAvailable from 1 to 0 in order to make it stop trying to use a controller.

I heard some talk about overlays causing this issue, but he's disabled the Discord and GeForce overlays and he's not playing through Steam.

Does anybody have any idea what is causing this?

What kind of mouse and keyboard is being used? Do they have their own drivers? if so try re installing them. Can you please provide us with the steps of what happens prior to this happening and what happens after.

The mouse is a Logitech G502, the keyboard is an ADX Firefight H01 mechanical keyboard. The mouse's drivers are fully up to date, but there don't appear to be drivers for the keyboard.

As of right now, it's working, but it was working before and it still messed up eventually. We don't understand what's different. The only thing that seems to prompt it is alt-tabbing.

At the moment it's working fine despite our best efforts to try to re-create the problem, and we're just as puzzled as to why it's not messing up as we were to why it was messing up in the first place.

Our best guess is that the game thinks his mouse is a controller for some reason. He currently has "Enable Virtual Mouse" checked under gamepad settings, and we think that's why he's not encountering any issues.

I had this problem happen when 4.2 came out. Restarting my computer fixed it and I haven't had it since. But when it would happen I couldn't even exit the game short of forcing it to end with the task manager.
