Tennant at only 2 houses?

Why is it limited so you can only be a roommate at 2 estates? After the housing rush, tried to join into my sister's house, and my fiance's, but can't join one of them because I'm already a roommate with my friend. What's the deal with this restriction?

I do believe you can be the tenant of up to 3 houses. Not sure why you appear to be limited to two.

Being in an FC with housing takes one of those slots I believe.

You can add 3 tenants TO a house.
You can only BE a tenant of 2 other houses.

The number stays the same regardless of if you're in an FC or not.

With the new 4.2 estate teleportation though, unless you need actual permissions you can just use that to get to their houses (if the owner turns it on)

ahahaha I misread the one above me. Yes. You can have up to three tenets per house, but only be a tenet at two. So you would have to make the decision of who to go to and who to let go of.

Sort of frustrating. Housing and decor is what my friends and I enjoy. Hard to do that sort of thing as a group when you're so limited on now only how many roommates you can have, but how many houses you can be a tenant of. I'm hoping they lift that restriction, or at least increase it, especially with all the recent changes to housing.

I'm not SE, but I doubt they will. Tenants were added in 3.1 (September 2015) so it's been this way for a long time. In SE's eye (and if I'm honest my own as well) any more people sharing a house really should be a Free Company. I do appreciate you have a different viewpoint though.

FC housing is also setup better for multiple people as if the leader is offline for 35 days the leader position passes to someone else. Private housing has no such thing and likewise only the owner can reset the demolition timer. If they added (for example) 10 people to a personal house and the owner didn't login for 2 months, everyone just lost the house.

With an FC house someone else would have been made owner and the house would remain (assuming not everyone was inactive!)

Well, the other thing with FC housing is that as long as a member of the FC walks into the house, it doesn't matter if they are the owner or not, the housing timer resets. So even if the owner is inactive for the 30+ days that is the demolition timer, as long as someone walks in the FC estate, that's all that counts.

I don't entirely disagree, but the problem is we're all already in an FC (with a large), where we share the house with several other people beyond ourselves. Plus, I don't think just increasing the number of houses where you can be a roommate(or basically just someone that helps decorate, let's be honest) to 3, or 5, would be an issue. It's not quite the same as an FC.

On top of that, even with an FC, sometimes people just want their own space, but they want to share it with just one or two other people. Add that to several people wanting the same thing, and suddenly, you're having to very carefully pick and choose what house you're going to be a tenant at, and it eventually becomes very unpleasant to juggle.

What I would really like to see is being able to add more tenants to larger-sized homes. Like I can only add 3 more people to a large? Let me add like 10 people or something.
