Most of us have spent four years slowly gearing up to i350+

A new player can "catch up" to us in less than three weeks. The current gearing system is already catered entirely to new players and I would argue could use slight adjustments in the opposite direction to make it harder.

No, he hasn't been nerfed at all unless there's a patch note I'm missing. I'm pretty sure he's still the same as he was when released. If you want to think of it as a nerf on a sort of unrelated thing, Shinryu Extreme was not added to mentor roulette when it was taken out of raid finder and moved to duty finder on patch 4.2. I believe that's the first primal SE probably has not done so for it.

They didn’t add any of the HW ex primals to mentor roulette till Stormblood so I’m assuming the Stormblood primals won’t be moved till 5.0

Weapon drops from dungeons would be nice for the purpose of desynth, that’s for sure...unless they are like the 310 weapons where CRP desynth gets hosed since all their “normal” desynths (WHM and DRG) belong to GSM...but that’s a whole different story.

As for actual upgrades for a job and/or newly dinged 70s, there’s a path to weapons in place, albeit more convoluted...but not RNG prone:

    - 290 from job quest
    - 310 from hunts; join hunt LS or just do weekly B rank plus daily hunts for a day or two
    - 330 from creation + 4 O4 normal clears
    - 340 from upgrading the 330 via Rabanastre coin

From there, at that point, Byakko EX should be doable ilvl wise.

Oh, you're right. I could have sworn that Susano and Lakshmi were added to it. I thought it was added because I think I've gotten tossed into Emanation extreme, or maybe it was only normal and I wasn't paying attention.

Weapons have never been included in end game dungeons outside of the first set. In HW the only lvl 60 dungeon weapons were the Baldur weapons from Fractal and Neverreap, and this is repeated in SB. It's rather easy to get to the 330 weapons though, and there is 0 rng to it. Even if they did add i325 weapons they'd be useless as most would be able to get the 330 creation weapons before they even see the drop for the proposed 325 ones.

I mean sure but wouldn’t the 325 armor drops be even more useless then claimed you can just use creation armor? I get there’s ways to obtain weapons I’m just curious why weapons are treated differently as far as dungeon drops go. I understand HW end game dungeons were the same way I’m just trying to understand why it’s that way.

Don't know. But it aligns with their design philosophy.

    New tier:

i350 - crafted, must be HQ. Expensive due to crafting stat requirement to make.
    i355 - Byakko EX
i360 - You have to clear O6S to get the stone OR do O8N 7 weeks in a row and have at least 1000 tomes (About 3 weeks).
i370 - Clear O7S and get solvent, must have previous i360 weapon to upgrade
    i375 - Clear O8S

You can of course wait until next patch for them to ease it but weapons are usually a pain to get in the first place. Since Eureka is releasing soon there will possibly be a way to get a catch up weapon from that (either grindy relic or possibly some pink rng weapons) like the PoTD weapons they had before. Armor has much more variance in it, since you can get a 350 set right from Sigma normal as well as the newer dungeon drops and Rabanastre stuff which is basically catch up gear.

they use weapons as the carrot for more casual players to do other content. Rich people can buy them, raiders can do byakko easily enough, the more casual players can do sigmascape normal easily and after collecting enough crystaloids they get the final big reward from it. Same deal with the 24 man raid coins

You can craft a 350 weapon none of the mats are very expensive makes a good returning weapon.
