Penalties for missing an invite an overkill

I got locked out before only after one time and not three times missing the queue. Could been three times and not know it. Happened to me when all the ddos attacks was going on. Queue popped then hit accept then was kicked from server. Remember last time ran the crystal tower was in queue for 146 minutes. Things happen like how's it your fault if you get penalty from server kicking you when queue pops from ddos attack. They need to fix it.

ok I made a mistake, I thought that this happened for the first time and I was astonished that I was punished so harshly. I don't recall missing more than 1 invites before then so not sure why I got the penalty.

And Amelia, there's only so many hours one can keep an empty bladder for and I've known queues last more than 5 hours before today.

To be clear you get a 30m penalty from queuing if: you decline a duty pop or afk the timer 3 times in one day, or if you abandon a duty you have entered while the maximum amount of participants are still there.

Yes the afk thing was implemented some years ago to prevent people who abort queues a large number of times from killing the duty pops of other players. In alliance raids it was not uncommon for 20-30 "cannot enter because another party member isn't ready" messages in a row.

I think part of the reason was people fishing for in-prog queues to save time instead of doing runs from beginning, and cancelling every time they got a fresh instance without penalty.

If it really did happen after only 1 time, that would be a bug and would need to be reported.

You queue up...you accept responsibility for being ready to respond when time comes due.

This. Even those who aren't enduring the long queues (healers/tanks) will likely have to sit through any number of failed ready-checks while the system weeds out the AFK'ers. Unfortunately, this doesn't stop people from waltzing into the dungeon afterwards and THEN deciding they'd like to: Cook dinner for the family, empty their bowels, go for a smoke, answer the door to accept a delivery, take a bath, run for president etc.

Anyone who signs up is putting their name on an (invisible) dotted line saying they'll be here when it pops. Your time comes and you renege on that? That's unfortunate, try again. Try to abuse it repeatedly in the hopes of bypassing certain dungeons/content? Then you can have a free -30minute pentalty while someone else who actually NEEDS things takes that spot.

What a stupid question to ask. Do you even go to the bathroom like other mere mortals? When we need to pee or #2, it can be at random times, just like the queue times in this game. Not everyone has a perfect bladder, or a golden rectum of the gods.

Solution 1) Never leave the computer for longer than 45 seconds.
Solution 2) Wait 30 minutes and try for a fourth time. Surely you won't need to leave again.
Solution 3) Don't play a dps class.

Stay ready during the que and take a quick 3-4 min break once u are zoned in. Let the others in the group know with something like "quick afk, 3-4 mins brb" and they are usually understanding. During that time u can use the restroom, eat, whatever, and this way you won't miss the invite.
